I once bought tires ( Mohawk was the brand name) that were so cheap, the dude putting them on the rims held his hand over his ears as they were being inflated in cased they popped.
A friend of mine bought a 1998 Monte Carlo years and years ago that had "Doral" brand tires, and we used to joke that they were made by the same people who made the cigarettes. They dry rotted something awful and he replaced them with whatever company has West Lake as their house brand. They outlasted the car.

My limiter kicks in at 101.

I have a tuner on my '11 f150 and Excursion, both will do north of 120, although the Excursion takes a long time to get there.

I was jamming on the turnpike over the weekend and my 2 door 2.7 wouldnā€™t go over 107 mph. I donā€™t need to go any faster. I was just wondering if anyone else got it over that?
Most SUVs are chip limited to 100 mph (my 5.3 V-8 Tahoe 100mph). Don't want to exceed any higher on that platform.

I drive on an 85 weekly. If your driving 75 on a Texas highway get the fuck out of the way Grandpa.
Wow ok. A different world. My wife is from TX but has been on East Coast for 20 yrs like myself. No need to go over 60-65 around here unless you're on I-40 or I-95, which we avoid if at all possible.

Dang, speed limit on the interstate around here is 75mph, and if you're only going 75, you're gonna get ran over!
Understood. I used to live in KS and traveled a lot in NE as well. No need to go so fast in NC.

All these worry warts should go to Europe for a week and force themselves to drive on the autobahn...then thell realize how everything moves at a ā€safeā€ snails pace here in USA, and appreciate the roads with higher speed limits. Ignorance really is bliss.
Yes, but itā€™s seriously more difficult to get a drivers there.

Ya gotta have a need... A need for speed!

In an open air vehicle (autocycle):

I'm with you @AK SNO RIDER ... Bunch of grannies here!
Yup, thereā€™s a key word here thatā€™s significant: GRAND PEOPLEā€¦. Iā€™m proud to be one, and have survived by not killing myself yet by doing something incredibly stupid.

Tire and vehicle limitations aside, this thread has really just taught me that this forum is largely made up of grannies afraid of speed.
And idiotā€™s looking to hurt someone who through no fault of there own are on the same roads.
