My old Bronco II's and Explorers had 2.72's and they were Borg-Warner, 1345's?? I think.Oh, then it probably is a NVG/NP. Thanks.

These style have been used as far back as the 90s and are very reliable. The clutches dont slip like that. They truly lock. With that kind of info, do you know the manufacturer?
I don't like the idea of clutches, because like the Bronco Sport or other "Intelligent" 4WD systems of Ford, they overheat in sand and have to be cooled. I'd rather have a mechanical split.
Yeah, thanks, I saw that later, that BW offered t-cases in 2.72:1My old Bronco II's and Explorers had 2.72's and they were Borg-Warner, 1345's?? I think.
What t-case is it, and how do you know how they work if you don't know what t-case it is? I'm not being argumentative, just asking for the model/specs.These style have been used as far back as the 90s and are very reliable. The clutches dont slip like that. They truly lock.
Good article. I was concerned when I heard the xfer case had a clutch, but hopefully it is modeled after this xfer case that has both a clutch and a lock.I believe it is Borg Warner and is either the same or designed similarly to the Raptor transfer case.

I try not to be to confident in my answers, because there is sometimes conflicting information. But my best educated guess, it's the same t-case as the F-150 Raptor. I also thought that about the transmission (10R80 vs. 60) and looks like it will end up being different, so can't be sure until it's released.Good article. Easily, they are pretty compact heavy but compact. Loved my 5.0 Atlas in my XJ put me at 80:1The real question is.........
Will an Atlas twin stick transfer case be able to fit and work in the Bronco?
I was thinking more of the layout in the cab. There's the GOAT selection knob to work around. Not sure where you'd put 3 extra levers.Easily, they are pretty compact heavy but compact. Loved my 5.0 Atlas in my XJ put me at 80:1
It would only be 2 extra levers. You can get extended shifters & torch bend them through the side of the tranny tunnel / center console if you had to.I was thinking more of the layout in the cab. There's the GOAT selection knob to work around. Not sure where you'd put 3 extra levers.
Pretty sure the twin stick has 3 levers. 2 for the front and rear differentials and one for the gear ratio selector. It would only be 2 extra levers. You can get extended shifters & torch bend them through the side of the tranny tunnel / center console if you had to.
Edit: There are also cable shifters for the Atlas as well.
Nope, 1 stick for each axle F&R. H-N-L are on each stick. 3rd stick would be for a manual transmission, but the Atlas only has 2 shifters.Pretty sure the twin stick has 3 levers. 2 for the front and rear differentials and one for the gear ratio selector.
Yes, they have cables, but those cables are connected to the levers in the cab.
How do you Select the different ratios (2.72/4.3/8 or 11.7) then?Nope, 1 stick for each axle F&R. H-N-L are on each stick. 3rd stick would be for a manual transmission, but the Atlas only has 2 shifters.
