Knowing that the driver of the Kia is fine, that was hilarious! It's like the truck was like FU to the Kia, and then, after the wheel/tire did the initial damage, it has to come back and hit the Kia again :D

Loose wheel spacer? Maybe, could also simply be loose lug nuts or even an axle failure.

No wobble or anything. It just released. CRAZY! I wonder what rim and tire it was because it kept it's round plus the tire didn't deflate. Glad to hear that the the people in the Kia walked away from this. I thought for sure it would've been worse than that.

At 28 seconds the back side of the wheel shows and looks like the brake rotor. Pretty shiny to be the back side of the wheel. Haven't tried to capture and blow up to see if lug bolts or holes show.

Probably not wheel spacers but lug nuts?

Whatever it was, I don't think it failed, I think it was user error.
Almost always is.

Simply -- Twice as many points of failure.
So, just guessing then?

I have ran wheels spacers for years without issue, both on my Jeep and now on the wifes Bronco. The one time I had a wheel come off was on my F250 without spacers. No warning, or wobbles, it just went and sheared half the lugs when it did. I suspect loose lug nuts as it was just in for an inspection a few days earlier.

Same F250 had the front axle shaft break and drop a front tire. Again, no warnings or wobbles, just boom and gone. This failure occurred within 5 miles of my house, without a load as my dad was returning the truck after 3000 mile road in which he pulled a trailer the entire way. Talk about lucky.

Lol yes I'm just guessing. I have no idea what happened -- it's just a guess. Hence the question marks after every comment I made about loose spacers in the initial post.
