GOAT modes will do things like automatically lock differentials or automatically disconnect and reconnect the stabilizer bar. Things that are not standard on every trim... so not just a software thing.

It does surprise me that the manual transmission will have the exact same modes as the automatic. I don't know what an ECO or Sport mode could possibly contribute to someone driving a stick.... maybe some level of traction control?

Usually eco and sport modes only change the gain settings on the throttle pedal. So in sport, the gain in turned up making the car "feel" more responsive and powerful, the opposite happens for eco to try and conserve fuel. The beauty of drive by wire... The automatics take it a step further by changing shift behavior.

To the OP's question, I have no doubt that it WILL be possible. We figured out how to activate drive modes on base model S550 Mustangs without much trouble. Keep in mind though that as others have stated, some drive modes (more so for the Bronco) are tied to specific hardware that might not be installed in certain trims. So even though all modes can be activated, some might not function exactly the same or even at all.

Will you be able to calibrate for different tire sizes is my question...

Yes. On the mustangs it can be done via forscan but I would have to imagine ford would make it easier and even user facing (maybe in the cluster) on the Bronco due to the nature of the vehicle and the fact that many people would likely be changing tire sizes.

The real question is will the burble mode be able to be switched on for the 2.3, like the Focus RS.

The Mercedes mode system changes steering and optionally suspension. Not sure how involved Ford's system is, but it's at least possible.
