This is why magnets are the better option for pranks. We have an “I ❤ Gay Porn” magnet that makes the rounds in our Jeep club. So far I hold the record for taking the longest to notice it at 6 days
use a prank front license plate.....

Heat and plastic scraper. Alcohol will remove the residue but can't penetrate the sticker.

This has coincided with an extra-busy week, so I haven’t had one stretch of time to work on this sticker, but after a few sessions of slowly peeling this off with my fingernail in tiny bits, the sticker is now off. After work today, I’ll focus on the remaining adhesive. I tried alcohol on the adhesive with no luck. I will try the Maguier’s citrus spray this evening.

Apparently what I peeled off at first was just a clear outer layer. What remained was the actual sticker, in which the letters were cut out/empty, so instead of one big rectangle, it was many small segments. Also, the sticker was black, on a tinted window, making it had to tell what I was working with.

If you haven't tried the low-setting heat gun approach yet--try it. The heat will soften the adhesive making it easier for the cleaning solution to remove. Unless of course you're enjoying the newfound revenue stream--in which case, nevermind..

Is your friend like 12 years old? LOL

Not sure if it's been suggested yet, but can you use Goo Gone on it?

just to add if youre still having problems with this, i had scotch tape residue on my back vinyl window from my temporary tag that would not come off, someone gave me the advice to use wd40 to remove it so i used a bunch soaked into a microfiber towel with some light pressure and it came off fairly easily with no scratches or clouding

My dealer installed the temporary paper tag (which always goes in rear window until plate arrives, they used to issue cardboard temp plates and then temp-stickered metal plates but our state did away with the little yearly tags in the corner) to the inside of the rear window.

After waiting the nominal month until actual registration matching the metal license plate arrived I removed the paper tag - but the adhesive tape did not come off and I did not want to scratch the vinyl - so my rear window has two strips of tape still on the inside.

Don't know yet since it is now at or below freezing if I will ask dealer to remove it when it is in for first service or if I will try Goo-Gone (obviously safe on vinyl since it comes in a plastic bottle, lol)
yeah, I live in PA as well, and my dealer did the same shit. Put the registration sticker in the rear plastic window. As soon as I got home, I took it off and put it in the glove box. I really have no idea why it's needed if I have plates. 🤷‍♂️ If i were to get pulled over, I'd simply hand them the registration from the glove box...

And yeah, now I have 2 lines as well. Residue, not tape. It's not super noticeable, but annoying nonetheless. Maybe it's not as bad because I took it off right away?

This still perplexes me, as I've been living in PA now for 8yrs, and I don't think I've ever seen a car with temp registration in the rear view. And when I got my Tahoe 3yrs ago, I don't remember this as well. 🤷‍♂️

Last week happened to be a major priest launch at work, and the longest hours I’ve worked in two years. So, I had to find 10 minutes here and there over the course of the week to work on this. Took the window off and brought it inside. In small time windows I picked at the sticker (which wasn’t one solid rectangle and had the letters cut out of it) with my fingernail and gradually got it all off in tiny bits over the course of multiple days. More patience and elbow grease over a couple more days with rubbing alcohol and a microfiber towel on the adhesive. Got maybe 90% of the adhesive off and hit the rear with Plexus.

I put the window back on and can still see some adhesive residue in the right sunlight glare. Will have to work on it again with Plexus, after next washing.
