VIN Search to Discover Date of Delivery (not Bronco)?

General question that I'm hoping others may have an answer to - If I have a VIN can I find the date of delivery to the dealer?

No. If its anything like my 2015 Mustang GT order the VIN search on Ford's tracking website only allows you to see the process of the build. It had no specific dates cause it actually sat in a QC hold after production.

The only reason I knew mine was coming to the dealership is because my buddy saw a Deep Impact Blue Mustang on a truck on I75 headed off the exit at my dealership.

Once you have a VIN, you can track the process. It'll provide an estimated ETA (usually the last day of a week long window).

Most VINs have a code for date of manufacture. I believe it varies by company on location and code within the VIN. The code will be for date of manufacture and not date of delivery, but the two should be fairly close.

I think that you know the VIN eventually. I purchased a car a few years ago and had the VIN prior to delivery. It is rumored that I was able to see the railcar that brought it to KC from Mexico and had an idea when it would arrive. BTW, I am in IT and am employed by a RR.

I have a VIN, but there is a promotion that only vehicles that have been delivered before the prior 60 days are eligible. It is a 2020 that I think was delivered in December.

If you have to have the delivery date and not the manufacture date, you'll most likely need to contact the dealership for that info.

That's what I was afraid of. I hate to give up leverage. There is already $6K in discounts/promotion. I'm trying to push it to $7K which will push the overall deal closer to invoice.
