I, like many on here bought a 6G bronco because we always wanted, or had/have an early Bronco. Usually a first generation, but many fell in love with later generations.

If your current 6G Bronco could morph into the early version you always wanted or had, what would it look like? And what’s the story behind it? Here’s close to what mine would look like, will tell the story of why later.

I always wanted a G1. I think this is pretty close.

I loved my '84 the entire time I had it, was sad to see it go, and always wanted another and was ecstatic when the 04 concept then the 6G were announced! So glad I was able to get a CO 2dr to pay homage to my original. :)

I had a 71 for many years. I could take that thing anywhere. Daily drove it to work in the Kansas winters

Got close to it now. Much more user friendly too!

My wife's 23 and my OBS. The 96 is getting a 6" lift, 35s in the next week or so. Both manuals...

Couldn't find a reasonably priced old bronco years ago, so I ventured to International. 77 Scout Traveler. Not fast but it'll get you there!

Tell me about the 1st gen’s wheels. Is that a bead-lock conversion?
Mickey Thompson Classic Locks (fake bead locks)
They don't make them anymore which is a shame. They were one of the few 15" wheels that had a 3-1/4" to 3-1/2" back space that could clear the knuckle of a 1976-1977 Bronco Dana 44.

I may be accused of deviancy here, but it's my story, and I'm sticking to it:
The 1965 International Scout 80:
Ford Bronco What's Your 6G Bronco's older alter ego? 1710336135273-g1

I got a summer job in the Sonora Desert in 1965--me, a suburban kid from Connecticut, with a mineral research outfit that was testing a new method of exploring for ores. I drove something like this all over the backcountry outside Tuscon, pulling wire and collecting samples. Just drove over and through everything: cacti, rocks and sand, gulleys and washouts. No traction control or anything, just three sticks (main, hi-lo range, transfer case).

We're a lot more concerned with trash and debris, plus how-what-where we drive, but back then you just drove, and threw your trash out the window. The landscape was full of rusted-out vehicle parts, rusted beer cans and sun-bleached glass fragments, which are now so rare they're collected and turned into jewelry.

I'm in my mid 50s, which means I went to high school in the 80's, and this was the ride I wanted - didn't happen. This is what got me hooked

Exactly the same story here!

I finally found one in the early 90's (that I could afford) and snapped it up. I went with AMB on my '21 because is was the closest color to my '85 EB.

Took this picture of my TV screen while playing a VHS tape....

I love the connections that can be made between the 6G and Bronco II. But my options/color choice were impacted by MacGyver’s YJ.
