What I need:

Manual transmission and Sasquatch in a base with auxillary overhead switches. Just a few long months away from the MY22 order............(but they'll probably bundle the manual/Sasquatch in with a Badlands only or some other crap I don't need with it)

So it seems like a high package, non-SAS BL has pretty much 90-95% of what you want (minus sport mode)...but it’s too expensive?

Honestly if you built a Bronco from scratch with each individual piece you want...you’d pretty much end up in the same ballpark as BL price wise.

If you want all that stuff it’s going to be expensive

Curious, could I put 33s on this? And not need to do any lift or suspension tweaks? This may be my compromise.

I think the 'options committee' got their ideas from this:

I'm going to answer my own question - it's all about the Benjamins - but seriously, it annoys me.

As for what I need in a bronco:
  • I need the 4-door for family - that is my truly only basic need.
As for what I want:
  • I want black MGV seats that are easy to maintain
  • I want the 2.7L / 10speed
  • I want the LT285/70R17 All-Terrain A/T Tires 33s with the 17" Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum Wheels (Can only get it on the BLs)
  • I want the high-package (can only get on the BL, OBX, and WT)
    • The OBX Interior is atrocious
    • The WT is too expensive and I'm not a fan of the hood graphic
    • And when you start adding the things I do want to the BL, the price becomes higher than a WT, which has SAS.
  • I want the steel heavy-duty bumpers (extra)
  • I want the signature LED lights (can't get it on the BD for some dumb reason)
  • I want the rock rails (extra)
  • I want the 12-inch touch screen (see above - have to get the high-package, which is only available on OBX, BL, WT, and FE).
  • I want sport mode
I don't need:
  • SAS
  • Sway-bar disconnect

At this point, I'm debating just getting a base or BB, and doing all this aftermarket stuff myself, later. I guess I won't (At least not cheaply) be able to get the 12-inch screen, but other than that, maybe I can actually get the Bronco I want.

Just annoyed at the options. I just can't justify spending over 50k on a BL at the moment. And yes, I know I am whining, but I just feel like there is a lack of options here, so Ford can make more money. Frustrating. (Just venting, sorry).

Curious what others are doing.
So you are only getting a seat at disconnect “extra” in a Badlands. I don’t think you can touch the same performance aftermarket, starting with the stock suspension and 190 front axle. I am probably missing something, but to get all that under $50k is probably not realistic. Jeep is in the same price ballpark with way less power or add another $4k or so for the diesel.

The tough answer is: No one knows for sure yet.
I was actually thinking about doing a similar thing on my BL. Go non-SAS then swap out my 33” tires for 35” after the fact (bc SAS doesn’t add a whole lot that the BL doesn’t already have).

Unfortunately since no one has a Bronco...no one has tried it. There is no for sure answer, just a lot of speculation.
I’m hoping that by the time my order is getting ready to be built, there will be enough Bronco fanatics around that will already have their rigs and have tried something like this.

Hopefully you’ll get the same information.

All that being said - if you go BD you lose the ability to get the high package/12” screen + LED lights.

Wait. Is this a new thing where people don't get 100% of the options they want with a car?
In fairness, most car models have steps up in trim levels and it's fairly easy to decide which one you want. The Bronco has weird steps sideways, so when you go up, you sometimes lose the stuff you wanted on a lower model.

What I need is a gas engine to get me to my job which provides me a living...

What I want....
2 door bronco with 2.7 engine.
Sasquatch is cool
MGV would be cool but who knows because I’ve never had it in a car to know if it’s a must...
I wanna go topless- doorless and enjoy the mountain roads...

For most of us this bronco obsession is a want...
So it’s hard to draw a line in the sand and say I need this or that....
Just figure your budget and go from there..

I am in the same boat. Have a non SAS high package on order but probably dropping to Black Diamond. But I really want a BD with high and signature headlights. That would be perfect for me.

Don't get me wrong, Ford definitely has some weird crap going on with their trims, but people will always complain. Where Ford really screwed up was the accessories. They could have raked in the money if they had the 200+ accessories w/ the b&p.

Not trying to be a dick, but I just don’t get the “must have” with the signature lights. The standard lights are LED as well. Why so important?
