Mine shifts like a dream and accelerates to highway speeds flawlessly. That's with 33s on it too. I should add this is my 5th manual vehicle I've personally daily driven and it's far away my favorite.
Mine shifts exactly like a newer Mustang. Which is expected, since it's essentially the same clutch and transmission.

It's ok. Clutch is light and indistinct, Shifter is a bit sloppy because it's cable driven.

I'd much rather have a 5-speed TREMEC. My 08 Mustang with the 5-speed was much better than the new ones. And 6th gear is pretty worthless, I barely use it.

I also agree:) I have a 2.3 Bronco on 37s feels great doesn’t feel sluggish at all and in my opinion I feel it will be the more reliable option. And if you are looking for more power get the ford performance calibration
I have the 2.3 in my Basesquatch with the Ford Performance tune and it’s been great. That said, my HE on order will be getting the 2.7 because if I’m upgrading I’m upgrading. But it’s definitely not because the 2.3 is lacking I’ve been very impressed with it.

Exactly. This is what everyone is worried about.

They will replace the 2.3 with the new 2.3 and kill the Stick Shift for good.
There’s no reason switching to the newer 2.3 would mean they would kill the manual.

Seems like a lot of the guys that think the 2.3 is more that adequate also felt the need to install a performance tune.

I couldn't agree more. Having owned a '21 OBX with a 2.3 and now have a WT with a 2.7 people are kidding themselves with a 2.3. I've always said the 2.3 is adequate, the 2.7 is just more fun and the MPG is virtually the same, I think I was getting a mile or two better with the 2.3. Don't forget the 2.7 also has direct and port injection.
Totally with you on this. I drove a 2 door in the color I wanted with the 2.3L. Then I drove a 4 door with the 2.7L not in the color I wanted. I walked out of the dealership with the 4 door. It was a night and day difference between the 2. Now, I have a 2 door with the 2.7L, couldn't be happier.

Ford said they would not pair the stick with the new 2.3 for "reasons". Of course we mostly suspect that the reason is Ford want's to force you to pay the extra to buy a GT instead of an Eco-boost Mustang.

Interesting, I never saw this. I just assumed they got rid of the 2.3/manual combo in the mustang due to lack of interest/sales., but who knows.

It’s fine without the tune but if more power is an option why not take it and all I think most of the 2.3 owners are saying is that the 2.3 isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. Obviously the 2.7 is better no one has said it’s not and back to the tune if you want that little extra to make it feel closer to 2.7 performance get a run. Also at the end of the day we all love our broncos ā¤

Man I don’t know everyone is entitled to their opinions the bronco is not the best rock crawler but it’s capable there is enough proof of that. Stop letting the whole IFS thing just blind you. ā¤
lol... it is capable but its no comparison to a Solid front axle for articulation... both have unique strength and weaknesses.
