i have a 4 door wildtrack, when i try to put the passengers window up, it will hit the top and came back down. i tried the reset, with the window down hold the down button. but that won't reset it. i had it at ford they got it work, but that only lasted 2-3 days and the problem is back. i also noticed that the window does not drop the 1/4 when you open the door. can anyone suggest anything i can do, or does this need to go back to ford

Some people say disconnecting the battery for a bit works, but if you just roll the window up as far as you can without it bouncing back and then wait a couple days, it should allow you to do the window reset procedure again

The same thing happened to my 2023 outerbanks. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and that fixed it

Not sure if this helps the original window drop but if not dropping after opening door check to see window lock button isn’t activated as I know that happened to me and it fixed when I noticed not dropping after opening door.

Just to confirm you did the full window reset in BOTH the down and up positions? Door closed, window full up and hold for 5 seconds, release then window manually full down, hold for 5 seconds and release.

I’ve always had trouble with the reset procedure. I recall it has to be within the first minute of starting the vehicle to do it. But if the window immediately rolls most of the way down when you hold the switch in the up position, is it working? Feels like no.

+1 to this!!! You’ve gotta do both directions, up and down. I had this issue for two days in a row despite doing up and down but after doing it on the second day it hasn’t come back.

this is the 1st time i am hearing about holding the up button for 5 seconds. when i close the window as soon as it hits the top, it automictic rolls down.

This has happened to me randomly over last 3 years maybe 8 times. Everytime i just put it all the way down and then up to close it and held it for 5-10 seconds. whether driving or stopped or on with engine off, it's always worked. I didnt know holding it open was even a thing. it's always the back windows too.

Yep, may take several tries before it takes. Not really sure if it matters wether you start open or closed but has worked more often than not.

Let it land where it wants to land when you get in and shut the door then then use the switch to force it closed and hold 5-10 seconds, release then Immediately force the window open fully using the switch and hold 5-10 seconds.

EDIT: You need to continuously hold the button down manually both up and down...don't use the auto up-down to open and close.

Mine is always the driver door only...sometimes will go a month or two w/ no issue then may happen 2-3 times a month. Never had an issue with the other doors.

I believe you have to hold the button down for a few seconds and then put the window back up and hold the switch for a few seconds to reset the limit on it
