Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm looking into getting some spares too, just in case. The ICON brand ones look solid, although, I'm assuming swapping tie rods is the least you can do, as well as it voiding the warranty, right?

Yeah the rock pit isn't "mild terrain" to me lol. Sounds like the OP is a serious wheeler though so its probably mild to him. I'd look at that and say NOPE in a stock Bronco even with my Hoss suspension.
Every time my wife sees dirt next to the road or a pothole she claims its "extreme terrain"...you are right though.

Glad you were prepared OP!

I think locking the front is a recipe for tie rod disaster.

I'm sticking with the open M190, until I want to go with the Spicer unit, which would then require the 74Weld steering too to be a complete package. That is $10k right there....

Or just stick to my Jeep Cherokee XJ and not worry about any of that mess.

What is a TrickyDicky kit?
Tie rod replacement kit with the tools you need when out on the trail. Personally I would not update tie rod ends or putting sleeves on because you will just bust your rack which are hot garbage unless you have at least a 3.0 and even then I wouldn't do it. A HOSS 3.0 tie rod is $68.93. The real solution is 74 weld, but you gotta spend the $

74 weld will be my end game. The Icons will work with the uprgraded 74 Weld rack so figured I would go ahead and get them and do the swap this Spring.

I have a ‘23 Wildtrak with Hoss 3.0. What would you all recommend I consider upgrading so not to run into issues on the trail?

Hoss 3 is a good rack. Do the rack bushings. I want to say it has the larger steering motor and the approx size tie rods of the Icons. Only significant upgrade would be the 74 Weld housing swap. if you dont offroad much or not going to bigger wheel/ Tires should be good with what you have.
