We just got back from Texas and had the best time at the Off Roadeo! We've had our Outer Banks for 3 months and didn't even know about all the features we had. Also learned that we should have added the rear locking differential to our order. However, the instructors gave us excellent tips on how to manage the Bronco to act as if we had lockers. We drove a pretty no frills Wildrak and were surprised that the high package wasn't standard.

Great pictures and video!
Did the TX off roadeo with my dad last summer. It was fantastic, so much fun. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. We drove a WT the first day and OB the second. Both were great. Trying to convince the wife we need to do the off roadeo in Moab. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

We may do another one too! My only disappointment was there wasn't any kind of BBQ or entertainment at the end (marketing materials suggested there would be). Also was under the impression the instructors would be doing the high speed driving as well. They didn't.

That first video was great! I am attending Austin in a couple of months with my kids and I think they are as excited as I am.

It was so fun! The kids are going to have a blast! Are you hanging around the area for a little bit?

We are doing the Roadeo on a Friday, and staying in town for the weekend.

Can I ask...was it a "mad-dash" to get to a vehicle? I see you were in a Wildtrak, which is what I have on order. I am hoping to be able to drive one for the event, but I really don't want to run like a 'schools-out' exodus from the building when I was in 5th grade. :)

No BBQ at all? We were there just 10 days ago (3/5) and there was. They told us it would be a "Texas" BBQ and there was no brisket LOL, but the ribs were good. They told us that it would be outdoor with a big fire that morning but it turned out to be indoor. Still good though. We had to drive back to Waxahachie 3.5 hours away so we left after the first song though.
We had a fantastic time, I went with my 2 boys and even sharing drive time, we all felt that we learned a TON! I was impressed with the difficulty of several of the obstacles! I had expected mild trails only, but my heart-rate was elevated multiple times!

BTW, we did a Wildtrack too. It was nearly identical to my Base Squatch, so I got to see how much it could do, even without the disconnecting swaybar, very impressive, and when I throw on the quick-disconnect end-link for $100, I'll be set there too! One other thing I found interesting, not one time did we EVER set a GOAT mode on the trails, not until we did the dirt-track and we set it in Baja mode.

No mad dash at all although i kept nudging my wife to speed up! There were only 6 cars of people and about 10 to choose from. I don't think it'll be an issue at all. Just mention in the group "i would love to drive the wildtrak." Otherwise, no worries. Just walk briskly to it :D

Hmm......we had BBQ food in styrofoam containers that was catered by Horseshoe Bay. Does an outdoor BBQ with a fire really happen there?

That's cool...good to know. I'm surprised they don't allow you to request a model/configuration to drive (if you wanted to...assuming they could accomidate). Oh well, really looking forward to the experience!
