I am hoping to take delivery of my Badlands two door ,tomorrow. Cambridge mn. If anyone wants to off-road their new bronco, or any other off highway vehicle, google off road vehicle parks in Minnesota. You will be pleasantly surprised at the number of options. I am ina off road club, called The Mn Go-4- Wheelers. Look us up. We welcome all makes and models of trucks and side by sides. Join a club or buy a trail sticker for your bronco and tread lightly!
Hi, get your Bronco!? You available this Sun 26th? Familiar with Nemadji State Forest/Gandy Dancer trail? We're curious what trail conditions are like.

I've been eyeing that trail for a while now too, looks like a good beginner trail with some nice scenery. I posted to MN Soft Roaders group on Facebook asking if anyone knows what that trail is like in winter. I'll let you know what I find out but I'd be in for that trail. How bad can it be? We haven't had all that much snow and I'd guess lots of others have taken that trail recently so it should be relatively easy to get through it. Or we'll get some real world recovery experience with minimal recovery gear haha
Got some advise from MN Soft Roaders. Called the Moose Lake DNR office and spoke with Lisa (very pleasant and helpful). She says the trail has not yet been groomed for the season and will not be groomed by this weekend so it is still open to ORVs. She says she will update the DNR page every Wednesday for people to see if it is groomed or not. I asked her if she thinks a 4 wheel drive Bronco Sport with good tires can make it and she said, and I quote, "dont quote me but it should be fine" lol sorry Lisa. So not her fault if it snows a bunch more and we get stuck, but she thinks we'll be good. She says its basically just a road and people take normal cars down that road, but snow will obviously change the situation if we get a decent amount since they will not be grooming before this weekend.

EDIT: Oops, crediting the wrong group. I got the advice from MN Trail Lizards. MN Soft Roaders seems like a great group too, I joined both groups yesterday.

Awesome, thanks for doing that footwork. Just watch the weather and DNR page the next few days I guess. I'm speculating it'll be fine if we don't get more snow.

Edit: Here's a couple vids of Gandy Dancer in the light snow from a year ago.

Figuring this stuff out is a good learning experience and I'm realizing FB groups and DNR are going to be valuable resources for finding places to wheel in MN (other than designated ORV parks which I also plan to hit in the future).

Good find! Those videos look promising as conditions look like they should be about the same as right now. Honestly, I wouldn't mind even more snow than those videos have. We'll keep an eye on weather but I think we're good to go.

I agree, we should be good. Yes I would like more snow on the road too, kind of make it somewhat challenging, would be fun to plow through some snow.

Not ready to rock the bronc, just picked up tonight. Nemadji trails are generally mild, there is a mix of gravel, sugar sand, deep water holes. It is a fun place to get acclimated to all the functions of your bronco. It is a large place, so have a map, or drop bread crumbs. Have fun, and post some pix! Gandy is nothing to brag about.

Thanks, appreciate the info. Seems like a good place to learn. Congrats on your Bronco, enjoy and hope to see you on the trails!

I ordered MY21 Cyber Orange. When we had to re-order for MY22 I went with Eruption Green. Who knows when I'll get it though.

My Bronco Sport is A51, which was my original choice back in July 2020.

Possible meet-up this Sunday the 26th? Where does everyone live, where is a good meet location?

I wanted to get some recovery boards before then but can't seem to find any (good ones) by the 26th. Looking at 2-way radios - any recommendations?

Edit: I'm in the Zimmerman area, NW of the Twin Cities about 45 mins.
Picked up a pair of Midland 20way radios from Best Buy...

I picked up traction boards and a snatch strap, both of which we probably wont need but nice to have on hand. Looks like it'll be snowing Sunday afternoon so the ride should just get more fun as the day goes on

I meant 2-way radios not 20way. What kind of boards did you get, reasonable cost?

Know of a location to meet, somewhere between Forest Lake and Hinkley maybe? Only place I can think of is Grand Casino Hinckley.

East metro.

4d, Badlands, Lux, MIC, 2.7. Gilbert has some fun rock crawling (for MN).

Actually ordered mine in Hayward WI. I have a place up that way where I spend much of my time.

I have seen a bit about the Gilbert location. Is on my list to visit, with a big Bronco.

Available this Sunday for a trail ride, Nemadji State Forest?
