- w new info today we have all the recent engine build-dates, and 15 of the 25 engines listed in OP
- over past two-weeks the 'failure range' has increased slightly (~ 9-days) as we increased the # of engine build-dates from 6, to now 15 - but still basically the same couple months

Failure Range . . current 21159 - 21224 . . (i.e. 08 June - 12 August)

- as examples multiply, it appears there prob is a defined 'failure range' of engine build-dates -

- and for sure, Ford knows this 'failure range' at least 10x better than we do in B6g

** At some point it seems that Ford would have an obligation to contact the affected 2.7L owners (i.e. engine build-dates in the 'failure range') w some kind of safety bulletin ?, or more ? **
Grrrreat. Officially concerned.
I’m at 9k miles. I changed the oil at 1,200k and had the 10k service done early.
not sure if any of this would matter with the blown valve. Not a mechanic. Opinions welcome.

This type of situation Ford often handles with an "M" program. It appears this would be heading that way to me...BUT, the affected units are all still WELL within base warranty. There is no burning rush to issue a campaign just yet. If an "M" program comes out, owners will get a letter.

I'm concerned myself, I have a July 18th engine build date, smack in the middle of this. I'm at ~3300 miles. I just had the first oil change at 3100mi and I'll change it again at 10,000. I don't baby my engine, but I do start it from inside the house so its warmed up some before I leave.

Is have to say that 24 people just on this forum does seem like a lot. That’s 24 people from this group:
- Bronco 6g member
- AND has their Bronco delivered already
- AND got the v6
- AND has enough miles on it for the problem to show up
- AND decided to post about it

I’d suspect that that’s a fairly small group of people in total, and 24 is not a negligible subset of that group.

EDIT: From 19 to 24 to keep up with the current number
Very good point - we should take a poll of how many people on the forum meet these criteria and figure out what % the 24 actually represents.

#26 incoming, it sounds like @TravisC91 had the same problem as me and potentially same outcome.

maybe since there are a couple active cases someone other than Ford can get their eyes on the engines? possible for you or for @TravisC91 ? might need to crowdsource some funding for some independent experts but I think there may be enough interested people here...

As a Bronco owner with an engine in the failure range, if it fails anywhere close to my house, I'll have the valve covers ripped off and a bore scope in every hole avail. Even if it cost me another wrecker bill.

I'll run till it blows but there is something up.

I'm still betting on intake valve stem or retainer issues. And if you make me call it, bank 2.
