Got my BAMF hitch installed and did a bit of work on the bike. It’s great when it starts, but the carb wants to flood all the time, even as lean as it will go. Might have to get a new one if cleaning it doesn’t do the trick.

I get home this morning from work and am greeted by this fine art my kids got me for an upcoming birthday. Little do they know, but it is going in the main entryway where everyone entering the house is instantly amazed. They think it's funny now, but I'll be the last one laughing. Now I need to get one with us in the Bronco.

How civil are the Toyos on the road? They're my leading candidate when the stock GYs wear down (probably in 35x11.5, C-load flavor). Granted it was an abbreviated demo, but the stock tires on the demo squatch weren't something I think I'd willingly put on there myself.
I put 35" Toyo AT III's on my Big Bend Blue with second hand Sasquatch rims, a Zone 2" lift and Rough Country tail light extender. Love how the Toyo's ride on the road and I think they look great. The dogs like them too.

That yella rig shore is purdy! 🥰

How come she’s always ahead of you in the photos? Can’t your little 2-door even pass a school bus?!? 😂😉

Just got back from a 3600 mile trip to Idaho to the Clearwater National Forest. A lot more snow than expected. Forest service roads were unlocked on May 1 and we arrived May 2. Most roads had several feet of rotten snow within a few hundred yards of turning off the highway. Only active logging roads were clear enough to go anywhere, and that wasn't far.

The 2 door was great at 75-80mph. The MIC top sucks in a crosswind, which was more than half the trip. Absolutely sucks. I also developed the leaking water from the airbag after 48+ hours of continuous rain. Thankfully the top will only be for road trips and not normal use. Still pretty annoying.

Size wise, the 2 door was fine for 3 adults on a 9 day trip that included 5 days in the backcountry. We took all gear needed plus plenty of backup gear just in case and had plenty of room left over inside.

One change I will be making in the future is better coilovers as the Badland coilovers sagged too much from the weight. I want the adjustability to compensate for driving top and doors off one day and fully loaded down the next. As for now, one seat removed had given me a lot more space and will probably stay that way for the time being. At some point I'll get rid of the other seat when needed.

This was almost every road a few hundred yards in.

Even the best roads ended eventually. Good thing we were there for the hiking.

This was the view most days, which I actually don’t mind.

But a few days were spent napping with these views.

Overall a great trip. We had a blast. The Bronco did well, except for the MIC crosswind performance. I'm hoping to make it to the backcountry in Montana in August if I can find someone willing to suffer a bit.

Always time to celebrate when you find a clear spot to sit on a 12 mile hike through the snow!

One last picture with an explanation. This was day one, 200 yards in from the main highway. Backpacks packed for 3 days, 12 miles in, all in the snow. This is where we left the Bronco for 3 days.

We took a cargo carrier with a relatively cheap cooler for storage space if we needed it. I get questions on why I don't travel with an expensive cooler. Well, lots of reasons. I spend the night at hotels and it's pretty easy to steal and make a quick getaway. I leave it at the trailhead or campsite for days at a time unattended, which also makes it easy to steal. People might decide they want a $400 cooler a lot more than they want a $50 one. I also didn't have any issue of keeping things cold on this trip.

Going up it was empty. It was for bringing stuff home we didn't want up front with us. As it was, we filled it with 2 thoroughly soaked tents, tarp, pants, and gaitors that needed a good hosing off. Was nice to have the extra storage space if we needed it.

A cargo carrier is not ideal in the backcountry once you get into some really tight spots, but we took it off as soon as we got to Idaho and didn't use it until we left. We had to make some really tight turn arounds on mountain trails that were blocked. If we had the cargo carrier on, we would have just removed it for the turn around. Really glad I had the 2 door when turning around on those mountain shelf roads.

Swapped the factory rock rails for Goat Fab sliders. Now I can start pivoting around trees.
