I mocked up a few 14 gauge brackets that attached to the threaded holes that were there in the Bronco and attached to them.Tough to tell from your photo, how did you get the black mounts attached to the roll cage? I had purchased their strap mount thingy but it didn’t fit the contour of the bar.
How hard was it to drill into the roll bar? I heard is was tougher than steel. Thanks2 door mount! Was dog approved. She hates rear seat belts.
Good Safety advice to have one in your vehicle. Reminder about temperatures. Most fire extinguishers have a max temp of 175 degrees Fahrenheit and work best when temperatures are no more than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Also maintain them for optimum use.I just posted a video of my setup here. Anyone else done something similar?
Nice! Do you have a link for these mounts?I’ve put a 2.5lbs extinguisher under the driver seat using some mounts from DDI. If I need an extinguisher I don’t want to have to run around to the back and get the tailgate open to use it
Not that tuff. Just thick. I just pre drilled then added zip screws. How hard was it to drill into the roll bar? I heard is was tougher than steel. Thanks
Is that with their seat rail mount? looks fantastic
Go with the Element Fire Extinguisher and there’s plenty of room anywhere.
@B Miller is/was forget what he said but think he runs ABCAre there any current/retired firefighters here that can recommend what they have in their personal vehicles?
Not that I doubt you fine folk, but this is a zero-fail scenario, so any professional opinion would be very appreciated.
They’re definitely not cheap, but the install was a breeze and they definitely feel designed for the truck itself and the space.Nice! Do you have a link for these mounts?
Yeah, I saw those element sticks on a Jay Leno's Garage clip but they didn't test in a real scenario@B Miller is/was forget what he said but think he runs ABC
I've only ever seen element extinguishers used on small controlled fires and you gotta get way to close in my opinion.
Had a '91 skyline explode on a track day and the Element was like a little fart in the wind. I know for a fact I didn't use it right, but there was no way to get close enough to race gas and methanol burning for it to do anything. A fellow racer stopped and a 5lb ABC managed to quell the flames, which is now what I run.
When my stuff is on fire I want more than one opportunity from 2ft away to extinguish it.
