I have this Amerex Halotron using the H3R NB300 mount. I think I paid under $200 for the extinguisher back in 2021. The mount is nylon (like a Glock frame), but very solid and doesn’t use hose clamps.

Heare's what I did: Buckeye brand (obviously) 2.5Lb extinguisher mounted with Rough Country's fire extinguisher mount. Utilized the bolt hole on the roll bar and one of the T50 bolts from the hardtop bolts as I had installed Rock Workx thumb screw quick removal fasteners. Then a plastic plug in the other existing hole just for alignment.

This RC option looks good, is it solid, any rattling noise on the mount?

Might be wrong section. Looking for rear mounted mounted extinguisher recommendations that require no mods. It could be life saving.

If your going to spend $200 on a fire extinguisher at least get a 10lb unit. I only have a 2 lb so I can do trail runs, it's absolutely pointless to carry. I always joke with the tech people about how worthless it is and more likely to kill me in a roll over.

I went with the element molle holder strapped to the rear roll bar. Pretty simple and secure.

I mounted a fire extinguisher on each side of the rear bar. I cut a couple of brackets on the CNC that fit the existing threaded holes in the bars and simply bolted them on.

I also have the Element Extinguisher but I used heavy industrial magnets to use to attach to the role bar.

I went with this set up. It's tougher finding a spot to hang these in a 2 door...

So the only fire extinguisher worth having is a 20lb ABC. You need enough stopping power to even bother fighting a vehicle fire. Vehicle that are smoking mostly go out by themselves, trust me we almost want to throw more fuel on the fire to get a new piece of equipment. The only mount worth using inside a cab is the design pictured below.

Needs to have a double strap (redundancy), the rubber strap work the best in high vibration (vehicles) and need to be attached with at least 4 bolts. These are the mounts we use at the mines, not having a secured fire extinguisher on equipment is a do not operate.

I have been involved in a fatality since my previous post in which the fire extinguisher was the fatal blow to the head. The mount was a single strap, the operator slid into a bank, behind the seat extinguisher hit them in the head.

I’m not trolling here but I’ve never understood the need to add a fire extinguisher. I’ve been driving for over 25 years. Never had the need for one. Is it a bling thing? I mean really what are the chances that you will need one? If my bronco catches fire I’m gonna get out, let it burn and get a new one courtesy of my comprehensive insurance. I used to have one in my cobra but that was just for show purposes.
