Have you called CSX to track if it's left MAP or if it has an ETA of a next stop?
Yep! Currently in Ohio, supposed to be in Chicago by the 23rd

Dang, I had hoped I’d be on your train. I guess I get another level of waiting since they repaired my rail car.

I’ve checked a few times and they always tell me the same rail car number so it doesn’t appear they unloaded my car and put it on another one.

Mine has been in OH since 11/15 and kept getting Chicago arrival pushed back. Last date was 11/22 and then changed to "offered to Foreign carrier for interchange yesterday" I think that means it was transferred to another carrier, but I have no other information. Normally the transfer happens in Chicago, but I think things are jammed up.
I hope your journey goes faster than mine has so far.

At least it is not a MAP. Ill be happier when I can start tracking it again.

Mine now says departed Cleveland and headed back to Willard, expected in Blue Island tomorrow at 7pm. So strange how they go back and fourth.

Well, this is lovely. Just spoke with CSX. Apparently, most of these railcars did exactly what we were hoping was NOT going to happen when offered to foreign carrier. Because of when it was offered to the next railroad host, the cars did not get picked up for some reason. They do not know why yet, therefore, these cars are all being staged to go back to Willard Ohio. From there it’ll be sent out to the exchange carrier again and distributed either east, west or south. Everybody who’s waiting for a vehicle, is going to be waiting much longer, because they can’t even give us an indication of when the exchange may happen. They did say that it could be because it was a weekend and they were short staffed and had no crew or there was some other weather issues. At this point, it sounds like Ford probably just rushed us onto cars in order to show progress, and the railroad did not know what to do with them.

well shit. Is there any way to tell where you are at after you’re offered to foreign pick up? Man what a cluster.

Yes and no
Offered to a carrier means that they let BNSF, UP or NS know that they have railcars available for pickup on their routes. If they fail to make a transfer, for what seems to be a multitude of reasons, CSX must pick them up and reroute back to load and do it all over again. Essentially, CSX drops the cars at the interchange and if one of the other carriers don’t pick up, CSX cannot just leave it and hope it eventually gets picked up. This is just as F’ed up as awaiting shipment for nearly 60 days, and being built for nearly 90!!

I was wondering about that since they were offered where they normally don't make transfers. What a shit show.

So if I call to track my rail car and it says “no wait (weight?)” what the hell does that mean?? It did say offered to foreign carrier at one point.

@JeebusCripes mine says no weight available too. I was curious on this as well since I had the bad order car... making sure they didn't switch cars and not document the new number to Ford.

@Itsdchz How did you manage to speak to a live person at CSX that gave info?

As of this morning, my railcar # is still sitting in Wayne, MI with no ETA. Geez, just when we thought one step of this shitshow might be a little easier. Nope.

Maybe it means you have made it to the yard in MN? Is the no weight info through the UP number or CSX?
