Yep, future Broncos, mine came in earlier this week and it has the subwoofer.

MY23 added a sub to the standard audio system. But now they can't build them so it only lasted about 4-6 weeks of production.

I just took possession of my 23 2dr Black Diamond on 12/13/22. I have the sub in my truck, and I really like the sound, so maybe if its built now, you still get it?
I am one that has upgraded every vehicle I have owned for the past 30+years with everything from full custom installs to cheap easy sub upgrades, and for a truck that I plan to ride topless as much as I can, I think this system is pretty good. Not concert hall by any means but I am not planning to upgrade any part of my sound system.
I hate it for those that were looking forward to this feature that probably will not be able to get it.

Where is the sub located? I'm curious as I'll be getting the 7 speaker system and was unaware they added all that.

Yep, future Broncos, mine came in earlier this week and it has the subwoofer.

Basically everything built 12/21 or later. Ask me how I know...

I think with mine being 2dr,the rear speakers and sub are closer to the driver and as far as a factory radio, I am pleased with the sound I get

Apparently Ford has never heard of under promise and over deliver. I am not an expert at automobile manufacturing, but it seems like common sense to be able to forecast more than 4-6 weeks of availability on a component. I don't understand how a microchip shortage effects the supply of an amplifier for a stereo system when I can go to Car Toys and have my system upgraded today (speakers, sub(s), amplifier, electronic crossovers, navigation, etc.).

Prior to the announcement of the 2023 subwoofer upgrade, I was planning on a speaker upgrade at a minimum so I guess I'm in the same boat. Seriously though, get your s**t together Ford: you've been making vehicles for over 100years.

When I see, "can't be retrofit", I get the urge to prove that wrong. According to the wiring, the amp gets a signal from the head unit for power and processed audio signal. If the output is there, me thinks it's doable.

That article said it "can't" be retrofit, but the official Ford communication says it "won't" be retrofit. I would bet that it will be possible to retrofit.

• Please be advised of a product offering change related to the Ford Bronco Audio System Subwoofer on 2023 Ford Bronco.
• Upcoming orders for Bronco will be produced with a ‘Subwoofer Delete’ option that will be listed on the window sticker.
• Please review the attached Ford Bronco Audio Subwoofer Delete - Customer Acknowledgment Form and ensure that customers taking delivery of Broncos with attached Ford Bronco Audio Subwoofer Delete sign a copy of the Acknowledgment Form and include in the deal jacket.

SUMMARY
The automotive industry continues to be confronted by labor and supply chain shortages that impact a wide variety of components used to manufacture our products. Ford is working diligently to ensure our vehicles are produced and delivered in a timely manner to meet customer demand. In an effort to help customers receive their vehicles sooner, Broncos will have a product offering change related to the Ford Bronco Audio – Six (6) Speaker Subwoofer System.

• 2023 Ford Bronco – Option Code 58E

This option code will automatically be added to affected vehicles. Vehicles with this option will be produced with 6-speakers; however, they will be equipped with a non-functional amplifier that does not support subwoofer functionality. The vehicle will not retrofit.

The ‘Audio – Six (6) Speakers Subwoofer Delete” option will be listed in the Optional Equipment section of the Window Sticker and customers will receive a $250 MSRP credit on the vehicle invoice.

CUSTOMER ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM

Customer purchasing a Ford Bronco with “Audio – Six (6) Speakers Subwoofer Delete”” must sign a Ford Bronco Audio Subwoofer Delete - Customer Acknowledgment Form (attached to this communication) before taking delivery of their vehicle. A copy of the Customer Acknowledgment form will also be available for download through SmartVincent and on FMCDealer. Signed copies of the form must be maintained by the selling retailer in the vehicle deal jacket, and Ford suggests providing a copy to the customer for their records as well.
