Did you have to drill holes on the aftermarket rack kit? Mine aren’t lining up evenly on the external extrusions
The carriage bolts are slid into the TrailRax crossbars and then aluminum spacers then the GFC rack kit is put on top. It all lines up perfectly. I did not mount to the 90 degree bend on the TrailRax side rails and didn’t have to do any drilling.

You can drill the after market rack kit or you can mount these to our HD Tent Mounts!
@TrailRax quick question. Now I know this may be a dumb question, and I get that it shouldn't matter, but it's driving me crazy. In your video, when you assemble a portion of the wind deflector that connects to the extrusion to the Bronco, you use carriage bolts and nylon nuts (5:52 in the video) but when move to the front bracket alignment section of the video (7:30 in the video) you ratchet it in with a socket. Am I crazy that these are 2 separate bolts/methods as I was trying to follow exactly the instructions video and now it's becoming a pain to adjust, especically since I'm placing the lightbar on there.

Video I followed:

Totally understandable! The video has an old clip in it from our original prototype. We now use a 1/4-20 carriage bolt. What you have now is correct.

yes! The video parts showing carriage bolts are correct!
Thanks Trailrax! Last question I promise. Should I be mounting to the aluminum extrusions 350vudu metioned above, attached to the 90 degree bend you stated preiously, or do either matter and is one stronger than the other?

Never messed with cans like that. All we can confirm is that Rotopax products will be a direct fit to our mounting plate.
Fair enough, thank you.

@TrailRax - These racks are the ones I keep coming back to. They look great, seem reasonably priced, and have an actual dynamic load capacity - especially with the pak rax.

I have a 2 door bronco and a family of four. Works great for our needs (especially with rooftop storage), but I’d hate to block the view for my sons out the rear side windows. Is it possible to install the pak rax without the horizontal accessory brackets? And if so, would it negate the additional capacity gained by the pak rax?
