Can MIC be painted (at least the exterior) by a body shop for the $1,895 (or less) drop in msrp?

If not, I may just elect to wait it out.... I reserved the Wildtrak in A51 which I personally think looks like crap with a MIC top.

Or... wonder if we can order with soft top and black hard top on back order to be delivered later?

Yes, both MIC & Modular come apart in sections. Difference is the Modular also has the two rear windows that can be removed.

@Granger Ford Based on this plot twist if we take you up on your October deal and go Wildtrack with the MIC, might we have a shot at getting a MY 2021?

$2k off invoice and not paying the $2k for the black top if we don't want it is too good to pass up. However, I don't want to take the deal and get stuck with a raised MSRP for the Wildtrack and forced into black top on a MY 2022. Decisions, decisions!

That would make too much sense, therefore it is not likely.

Does it make sense logistically for Ford to have to redeliver 3 and 4 piece tops across the country though? I don't see them doing that from a cost perspective. Would be good for PR though.

I haven't been upset by the delays but not having the black hardtop on the wildtrak really sucks. I am inbetween a white top with my white obx or a blacktop that was supposed to come standard with the wildtrak. This is very upsetting.

Good point. Changing the terms would let the supplier off the hook for their problems with the modular. They could throw it back on Ford.

Didn't the painted hardtop come with painted mirrors also? And maybe a painted grill? Not gonna have the painted mirrors even if you buy the hard top later.
