Serious question. Why would it bother someone if the vehicle they got in the second half of ‘21 was called a ‘22?
I want mine to be a MY 21 because its such an iconic vehicle and I want it to be the first year it was rereleased. Sort of a collector style vehicle.

Not a huge deal for me, but since my first Bronco was a 96, I want the first year of new production, and a 21 my makes it an even 25 year gap too.

It’s no big deal if I end up with a my22, but I’d prefer a my21.

Let’s just get through the initial orders in 2021 before we start talking about making 2022 Broncos.

The thing for me is more on the depreciation/resale side.
If I take delivery in say October on a 2021, it would make more sense to me to wait a couple months for a 2022.
There is no financial incentive to take delivery of a 2021 in 4th qtr.
Come Jan 1 2022, (3 months later) youre driving a 1 year old vehicle already.
Doesnt sit well with me.

Moderator, please put this gent in the first 'time out' of 2021
Hey it would hurt me too, but Ford clearly isn't ready and if only some are going to be 2021s... seems fitting that is the definition of FE.

Now I'll go stand in The corner.

I should clarify. I’m saying if Ford decided to call all of the current reservations ‘22 models.

If that’s the case I wouldn’t care all I want is to have the first year model.

It pains me to say it, but with such delays, would it not make sense to basically make all FEs in 2021, and then non FEs starting 2022?
This has been floated before, and I concur that it just may happen given all of the delays. It makes the FEs even more distinct, and simplifies what options & accessories are late availability/MY2022/etc. With COVID-19 slowing down supply chains they may not have a really good grasp of what they can even offer when, and knowing exactly what they need for only on trim starting out may really help.

I want a 2021. Think 64 1/2 Mustang, which while technically was a '65, there were differences, hence the label 64 1/2. All Mustangs built between March of 1964 and August 17th, 1964 are considered “early 1965” model Mustangs (a.k.a.: “sixty-four and a half”) Taken from this interesting read here:

I'm using the dark background scheme and cut and pasted the text from my December 15th post when I first posted the information. I guess the cut and paste picked up the background. I've now switched text color. Does it show better now?
Yes. Thank you.

I actually had one of those... my DMV Title actually said 64 1/2 as the Model year. It made that mustang a bit more valuable than the 65... I HOPE the same goes for the 21 Bronco but it could easily be reversed and the 21's are infamous instead and nobody wants them used.

They have not made any 2021's yet other than the prototypes. probably won't be in full production for several more weeks. So just call them all 2022's that way everyone gets a first year production and they will all be new till the 2023's start. They can get everything refined and sorted out for the 2023's. The only real difference is in the Vin# anyway. In the early years they moved the side marker lights around and in '77 they added fuel doors. They all had Wimbelton white tops. From '66-77 the bodies and seats were unchanged. I doubt that will happen with these.

Here’s to hoping that the 2021 MY doesn’t end showing up in 2022 ?
Could or would you change to a manual 2.7 Squach package?
