Are there any concerns you've had with the portable twin?
No issues. I have the portable because I have 3 offroad rigs + offroad trailer, so I never know which vehicle we're taking until right before the trip. I only use the co2 tank in my jeep that has a rollbar bracket mount. The viair400p (original compressor) was just too slow airing truck and trailer tires back up.

I am going to upgrade to dual viair compressors due to going from 33's to 35's. It takes a good 15-20 minutes for my single viair going from 20-25psi to 38-42psi with my current 33's. For me the size of a powertank and filling it just bothers me, so the compressor is my chosen route as its always there and zero planning required.

If you can hide a tank in a bumper and a compressor, that there is the way to go.

I plan on going with the ARB twin with the bronco. I don't like running out of anything and I've never used air tools on the trail before. I've got a warn PP on the jeep, that I use to air up, I really have no idea why they stopped making them. And, I've got a vivair 60psi unit to air up my SxS and I throw it in the truck if I take a long road trip.

I'm sure I'll look at both Vivair and ARB when I actually buy, but as of now I'm leaning toward the compact unit of the ARB.

You can also use a tank with a compressor, mounted to a frame rail.

Am I the only one who ordered the compressor on the build and price?

Price-wise, they are fairly similar in pricing with the edge going to Power Tank. $750-ish for a fully-loaded Power Tank and $950-ish for a fully loaded ARB Twin with auxiliary air tank.
What does a $750 Power Tank do that a 20lb Co2 tank & regulator for $200 can't do?

Like asking, what can a $950 ARB pump do that a $200 compressor can't do.

That 20lb Co2 tank & regulator can't show up at your door in a Powertank box, with all the Powertank goodies and the Powertank decal on the side??? 😆

People have been building their own kits for years, if that works for you, go for it.

Nothing. I think I have $150 into my 10lb tank setup and that includes the mounting bracket to my rollbar. I bought everything new besides the tank.

Thats not apples to apples. I’ll show you the difference between those 2 compressors though.

Most of my wheeling has been in the mud of the midwest, not a lot of need for airing down and rock crawling.

So, this might be a really dumb question, but why not integrate a tank with your front or rear bumper. You could run a fill line to it from whatever compressor you wish to run and you would have both high pressure and indefinite volume? If this is a good idea, take it! If it's a bad idea, I promised nothing :)
I did this on my Jeep back in the day, double tube 3" bumper front & rear. heli welded end caps and fitted air fill valves, could fill both with 120-150 psi, and use to refill after wheeling, worked well, and fast, but kept a portable compressor as a backup.

Anyone have experience with either of these.
I have used both...Powertank is my preference...I run with (2) 10# Tanks...it's quick and it's simple. If I'm just going out for a couple days...I usually only take (1) tank. The onboard works great however it's just slow.

In all of the KOH videos they made a point to say that they never air down. I'd like to know if the Bronco in the serious rocks like at Rubicon aired down or not.
A couple of KoH drivers said they aired down to 30. Not much, but still aired down. Barely.
