Somehow it has become more embarrassing for Ford

Many people 99'd their order to wait for a mod top and now it's not until MY23.

Hey look, another e-mail I didn't get from FoMoCo.

I'm wondering if I even have an order. My Ford account SAYS I have an order.
I got the e-mail stating I have an order.

And absolutely nothing else from Ford ever.

Also WOW, I expected the Mod Top to be late 22 (3rd quarter). Pushing back to 23? Webasto is an ever bigger cluster than we thought.

So basically they are going to crank out 50k soft top 4 doors and give them to the dealers to sell before reservation holders get their hardtops. And 2 door people are just straight up screwed.

Exactly. This might be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me.

Yeah so I read this as the mod top being delayed till 2023. So it definitely sucks for people that were 99 waiting for the mod top. But it doesn't sound like it affects the MIC tops at all ... Or am I reading that wrong.

Ok. So, my build is next month and because of that I don’t get the prep kit. Crazy. This is pretty close to what I thought it would be.

I wouldn't have 99ed my order if I knew that MOD tops were not an option for '22.

I love the price protection part however as someone that ordered right after this date not knowing about the delays I kick myself. That’s what I get for waiting.

While I am bummed about distillery I can’t argue with how good the soft top looks and I love the free prep kit. It’s what I was asking for.

Confused - this has nothing to do with MIC tops, correct? Just the painted tops?

so if I get pushed to 22 I can’t switch to white top if I wanted lol cause white top and the black top won’t be avaible till 23 omg just give me my 2 door mic top ford

I think most of us knew that the Mod Top would not make it to ‘22.
It wouldn’t shock me at all it it gets dropped all together.

if you ordered a 4 door and you wanted a plastic molded hard top and are willing to wait a bit (not super long but likely late summer into fall or more)

stick with your hard top order


If you want a MOD top (which so far we have not even seen on a car yet) that is painted body color / black / white. Then you should get the prep kit and the soft top and enjoy your car earlier and upgrade to the mod top when it comes out

So for those with early reservations that 99'ed their order to get a 2022 with a mod top just lost their spot in 2021 with a MIC, and need to wait 2 years instead of 1. Ouch.
