2020 is the year not to be calm.

Looking forward to the Wrangler Hellaphant vs Voodoo Bronco.

The thing about venting...Ford corporate folks (at least how they self-identify) on the forum are encouraging us to be critical & vocal for the very reason you stated. Though I'm reminded of the old saying...'don't allow perfect to be the enemy of the merely wonderful'

I can't disagree with your argument for having some patience, but if I was patiently waiting in line at a taco stand only to be told I could have meat and toppings, but not both (despite what the menu said), I would be pretty miffed.

Okay but if this happens are you going to berate the owner of the joint for hours on end, or simply get out of line and take your business elsewhere?

Fair question, except very few have been rude towards Levine or Ford. Most have just been questioning the logic and crossing fingers that the manager will change his mind before we reach the end of the line.

If that point comes, and the manager says the grocery store across the street sells the missing parts, I will have a big decision to make.

Yes you are right about that. It's a very vocal minority(literally 5-6 members) who have made a lot of this forum un-fun this week.

I prefer GOD-Bronco. Think maybe Raptor axles could hold up to it.

In our dreams though, something to make like 500 of.

So I have been seeing a lot of complaining on here and I just wanted to clarify a lot.

1 No SFA. (Not a huge complaint from most)
Most die hard rock crawlers are die hard jeep fans. Hence why ford went after the other 90% of the off road market and went after the Parking Lot Warriors. And if you are worried about articulation the RTI (which is the rating of articulation) is 700 for Bronco 730 for Wrangler. It’s so close you won’t notice.

2 No V8. A V8 will never come to the Bronco from the factory. Aftermarket SURE if you want to spend serious money for that v8 roar. The ecoboost line up will have MORE than enough balls to handle 35”s even the little 4 banger.

3 No hybrid/PHEV/EV. That is coming later. As soon as next fall. As late as 2023. We have seen leaks and reps have said it’s coming. Patients.

4 No Raptor. (Warthog) again coming later. Similar time line to hybrid. (Could even BE the Hybrid) we know little. Other than it will be bad ass!

5 No manual with Sasquatch and/or V6. That’s due to durability. Moving that much torque and moving those big wheels is going to put a lot of stress on the transmission especially the clutch. Sure they could make a HD transmission, but that would be horrible for road use. Odds are less than 15,000 manual Broncos will be sold annually. Not enough to just multiple set ups.

6 seats don’t fold flat.
I think there’s more to the story. I think you have to do multiple steps to get the seats flat. On my 2005 Focus you had to fold the seat bottoms forward then the backs down to get them to fold completely flat. It looks like those seats have more to offer.

7 a la carte options
Ford put out those package lists to see what people like and what people want. These options are DEFINITELY not finalized. This INCLUDES interior packages of color and seat and floor combos. There is still a whole lot more to come in this department and we have only seen the beginning.

8 “Subscription Navigation”. This is a package with the LTE. You get the Mobile hotspot, wireless CarPlay and AAuto. And fords navigation system that Includes all the popular off road trails as well as the ability to make your own trail and share it! Regular USB Based phone connection is standard.

9. No diesel...
I love a big coal roller. But a small oil burner in a small truck makes zero sense. Cost way to much up front and cost a lot to keep running. Yea slightly more torque is cool. But it’s just not worth the cost. And the hoops for ford to jump threw for the EPA is to high for the low take rate (10,000 maybe)

10 low towing.

You can either have a good off road platform or good towing. Not both. The suspension is what makes the difference. Tight hard suspension = good towing bad off road.
Soft suspension. Bad towing good offroad and comfortable on road.

You can’t have both.

So any of those complaints aren’t really worth you time right now. Give it a few more months and we WILL know a lot more. You have until DECEMBER it sounds like to change your mind on everything from dealer, trim, option engine etc. so please be patient. We have 4 more months to let ford tell us everything.

We already know SOOOO much. Body panels removable with ease. So many different accessories and the aftermarket is going to EXPLODE with options in a couple months. This is only the beginning people. More is to come in the next few months and next few years.

Ford KILLED it and blew most people expectations (including mine) out of the water even after the 5 years of build up, hype and leaks.
I will agree to disagree on Towing and the clutch.

Towing

Look at Fox Livewire you flip a switch and its stiff you can't tell me they couldn't do the same when you push tow mode or make it so you turn the knob to tow. That hitch is a joke in the pics.

Now I could see the problem being brakes and I could get that with the 35s but not suspension.

Clutch

My clutch is a dual friction rated for 1000hp with my T56 and its stupid nice took some tuning but if I can do it they dang sure can. I would think it would be the transmission 6th gear being they had to make room for that crawler gear but thats just me. Same reason I would think no 2.7.

Like I said you can get clutches to Handle the power and force no problem. But it will be HORRIBLE to drive in traffic and horrible offroad. That’s the whole point of the bronco.

Can we stop repeating this? The Hellcat makes 656ft-lb of torque, weighs 4400lbs (same as a Wrangler Rubicon), and its TR-6060 does just fine, with a clutch that's plenty light. The '13-14 GT500 made 631 ft-lb and was manual ONLY.

By Getrag-Ford's own documentation, the 7MTI550's torque rating is scalable up to 800N-m (590ft-lb).

There is absolutely no reason that:
- The 7MTI550 couldn't handle the 2.7's "massive" torque
- A transmission designed to handle that torque would be difficult or horrible to drive

It would be fine. Stop pretending there's some kind of drivability or technical limitation to Ford offering the 2.7 with a manual. Ford ran the $$$ numbers and decided it wasn't worth it to certify another entire drivetrain configuration and develop another transmission casting.

They could offer it, they don't want to.

Once again. Go drive a Shelby 350 or Z07 Corvette. Or SRT dodge. The clutch is very heavy.

And those are very light cars. Its not about engine torque. It’s RESISTANCE! how much torque needed to move the car from a stationary position. You a lot more in a Bronco than a Shelby.
