Did it myself with Carbon Force Ceramic from Chemical Guys - I will admit I was a non-believer in ceramic when it first came out. I'm very happy with it (except for my own mistakes when applying- or I should say wiping dry in a few small spots). I would 100% re-apply and recommend.

Did you do any paint correction yourself prior to doing the ceramic?

I really have liked the ceramic coating, I guess my apprehension to doing it myself is I have noticed some light swirling and micro scratches on the paint recently and not sure if I’d rather have a pro do it again or attempt myself

Did a full PPF in STEC self healing film at Aesthetic Auto in Tucson. Super happy, but I am thinking of adding ceramic coating to the PPF. Little Blue still looks great and the film has worked wonders in keeping Arizona Racing Stripes at bay. I was quite frankly amazed after a trip down a path that became just prickly desert with a ton of cactus in all directions.
Ceramic won't add any more protection, just makes it easier to wash the dirt off.

Not saying it's a bad idea, just trying to set expectations.

I did a lot of surface cleaning but, I didn't feel I had a need for true paint correction. My Jeep WK on the other hand did need paint correction and I also did that myself and very happy with the results using Chemical guys paint correction stuff.

For those of you that have had your Bronco a while have you been happy with your ceramic coating?

I had partial xpel ppf and xpel ceramic applied when I first got the truck in 2023. My installer is recommending I do another full paint correction and ceramic coat applied now since I never did a yearly touch up. They also don’t use xpel and use autobahn keramix so not sure if they’re just selling me.

Have you guys had ceramic redone or switched to doing it yourself?
Ceramic coatings... the snake oil of the current auto industry.

For me ceramic was a complete waste! Had Bob Moss do it down in Waco,TX. Took it in brand new. They over applied on all the black, topper, bumpers, rock rails, and it's like they forgot the paint. I have yet to see it be truly hydrophobic. For $3300 on a 2 door I expected perfect. What I got was a lick & a promise & my rig out of pocket for almost 3 weeks while they tried to "fix" it. All on a little 2 door Badlands. For me it just isn't worth the headache. 🤷‍♂️
$3300!? That's insane

I use the spray on quick ceramic wax and quick wax. Using Wizards now. Works well at shedding water and mud. I had Adam’s graphene but it left some minor resude near plastics that I need to clear out. They all work about the same on the cheap spray types.

Ha ha no. Ceramic coatings have basically rendered waxes obsolete for daily driven vehicles. Wax still has a place on garage queens and show cars because of it's ability to boost appearance and enhance colors but ceramic coatings offer a layer of hydrophobic long term protection that makes paint upkeep easy for a daily driven vehicle. It's not necessarily cheap if you pay a professional because of the amount of prep required but I have got 4 years of protection from professional coatings and up to two years from consumer coatings applied myself like CQuartz UK, Gyeon Mohs, etc. Then there's inexpensive spray on products like Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions which are extremely easy to apply (just spray on and buff off) that can last up to 6 months or more. Sure some products are better than others but whether you spend $$$ on professional, $$ on consumer, or $ on a spray on product, there's nothing snake oil abut ceramic coatings as most of them do exactly as claimed.

I think that I would agree that a $3,000 wax job has some snake oil attached to it, but I have to admit that ceramic works better/longer than regular wax. For the $30 or whatever that you pay for a DIY wax, it's worth the money and an afternoon to apply it.

If you are thinking thousands of dollars though - either it better be a show car, or throw that money at PPF. No ceramic is going to last long enough to make that level of investment pay off, nor does any ceramic mechanically protect better than any other. It's all about making water and dirt not stick, and they all do that: some longer than others, but none of them are going to last forever.

I use ceramic, much easier and seems to last longer than waxing. Apply yourself no special skill is needed.
The paint shines like crazy after a fresh buff and ceramic, even with all my scratches it looks terrific after a yearly buff and application.

I did Graphene 3 years ago after getting a quote for 2500. I have been happy with it.

Absolutely. Ceramics do require some maintenance though. Definitely shouldn’t need to reapply that often. A clay mitt and a booster will go a long way as far as making your coating last.
I went with Adam’s Graphine advanced coating. Did A slight paint correction and applied it a few days after I purchased it. Definitely recommend doing it yourself. Save a ton of money. That’s where ceramics get a bad rap. The coating itself is the easy part. It’s the hours of paint correction that’s expensive. But if your happy with the paint, no need to correct it.
