I like it. I also like the new Landcruiser. It's going to be interesting how the market share breaks down with the 4Runner, Bronco, Landcruiser and Jeep. You're insane if you argue against Toyota's dependability vs everyone else in the class - but these are newer generations and different motors, so time till tell.

Toyota also has a reputation of not being up to speed with the times as it relates to in-vehicle technology/creature comforts. I suspect as that pendulum swings, reliability may suffer.

I hope I'm wrong, but Toyota has typically been very cautious on not going too far with upgrading technology and instead focusing on reliability - Which frankly, is probably the right approach if you can't do both.

Looks 'clunky'. I prefer the look of the Land Cruiser.

Best take I've seen so far:

"It looks like a Rav4 that won't shut up about crossfit"

After my experience with the new Sequoia TRD Pro, I have zero interest if the 4Runner is built in Texas or Mexico. I know this is a Ford forum, but American-built Toyotas are sh*t.

Is there any reason now that Ford can't give us the Everest?

Ford Bronco 📸 2025 4Runner Leaked: New Competition Revealed Everest-Hero-Real

The Toyota SUV line-up completely bleeds-over into themselves pretty heavily:

4Runner, Land Cruiser, Sequoia and maybe the baby FJ along with the Corolla Cross, RAV4, Venza, Highlander/Grand Highlander and then tack all the Lexus products ... it's dizzying!

Agree 100%

This is the direct competitor with the 4Runner IMO. I would love to see how the dimensions compare.

As others have mentioned I don't consider this competition if the doors and roof aren't easily removable. Without removable doors and roof, I have no use for a midsize SUV and I'd be driving a pickup.

I think the side view is a bit too busy, especially the belt line. but toyota has doubled down on the angular styling so i'm not surprised. I really like the high glass, almost safari top rear window, and the high angle C pillar. But overall, meh.

I think the Land Cruiser looks better, primarily for tying into some retro styling (like the Bronco). But this just highlights to me what a miss the Land Cruiser is for not offering a 3rd row. Wheelers with Families have no choice but to settle for an incompetent (offroad) half ton class soccer mom SUV, or buy an old excursion/suburban. Considering the Ford Everest is available as a 3rd row, you can tell i'm salty about the Bronco not having the option lol.
