I would be shocked if Toyota puts the 3.5L V-6 hybrid powertrain into the 4runner like they did with the Sequoia. If they are only doing an I-4 hybrid in the Tacoma then that would seem to be what they will do with the 4runner too.

I bet it will be the 2.4 hybrid max from the crown and grand highlander.

I would pay 5K extra to have a normal roof with higher load capacity and less wind noise.

Do you have the sound deadening on it? Mine seems quiet to me. Only noise I hear is the whistling of the ditch lights. I have learned to ignore it.
One of the aftermarket companies makes a 1 piece removable top. That might fit your need and it would still be removable for you or the next person you sell it to one day. You could sell the current hard top for a big portion of the replacement.

Toyota needs to release these kickass vehicles in PHEVs. And if they're not going to offer sticks anymore (like since forever in the 4Runner) then they should be series hybrids with a motor at each wheel. Imagine instant torque exactly where you want it and not where you don't.

haha, more like I am trying to order one.... the manual is preventing it from going in until probably June or July.

I love the red though, totally sold me on the heritage model



I did try to order a Supra manual before this... the dealer told me that I could put down a few grand as a deposit for a 7th place spot. When I asked how many they were getting, they told me 4 . Then I asked about the Corolla GR... and it was a flat "No".
