Purchased in June, current mileage is 3200. Drivetrain is all stock.

Three times now, when slowing to a stop, the tranny has shifted hard. I believe it is the downshift from 2nd to 1st, at least this is what happened yesterday. The first two times were several months ago.

All three times, it has occurred in the first five minutes of driving after starting up in the morning. I do let it run for at least 3 minutes and usually 5 minutes before driving.

Instinct tells me it may have something to do with feathering the brake, "taking it easy" when I know the truck is cold.

I called the local Ford dealership and they told me not to worry about it. But it is disconcerting.

Aside from this, it runs great.

Mine shifts a little hard between 1st and 2nd during acceleration, when it's cold. I'm not worried about it...

Mine does it too. I've learned to anticipate the downshifts and modulate braking accordingly. It's stupid that I have to do that, though.

I don't have the automatic, but this sounds like many Fords/Lincoln's/Mazda/Honda/Kias I've driven. Out of all of those models, surprisingly, KIA was the best/smoothest shifting back to 1st when coming to a stop. I wouldn't be concerned.

Mine will be a year old on 12/08/23. 22,573 miles as of 11/17. It's always done it, particularly when cold in the morning. The Bronco hasn't been back to the dealer since I took delivery, except to pick up oil filters and such from the parts dept.

My 10 speed transmission is not smooth. Lots of lurching and stiff shifts. I want to say I’ve read here the ford performance tune corrects this, but my memory may be revisionist history.
