have you called other dealers around you?

I guess it'll vary from dealer to dealer or area of the country.

I'll add my experience here. My tailgate suddenly wouldn't open. My closest dealer, the one I purchased from couldn't even look at it for 1.5-2 months. I had to find a dealer 45 minutes away with an appointment within a week, then it took 3 weeks to get parts to fix it. All the travel back and forth was at my own expense.

Pretty disappointed, but also pretty common given everything else lately.

Very common. PA/NJ same stuff. They have no employees, no one wants to work. I needed a keypad programmed and they said the only person that knows the IDS tool is on vacation. I said let me do it myself, I just watched a YouTube video, it only takes 5mins.

also my rear window is leaking again on my Silverado, their body shop says 2 month wait. I'm gonna use an entire tube of caulking myself to hopefully fix untill its replaced a 2nd time. Everything is a complete sh!tshow.

Don't they have a quick lube? they don't usually have appointments. You can always do it yourself or ask a small independent shop.

Sounds about right. When I sucked up my rock the earliest appointment was a month out. They offered to squeeze it in during a slow time if I could leave it with them.

Part of this has to be that more people are fixing their old cars instead of buying expensive new/used ones, right? You guys wouldn’t believe me if I told you that some cars like Broncos are even going above MSRP!

Not sure I'll ever leave an oil change up to the dealer again, too easy to do myself and I can pick the oil. I brought my Z06 to the Chevy dealer for my 1st free oil change, I waited and watched these clowns drag the car on the lift, heard him test drive it like he stole it behind the dealership, then give it back to me with handprints on the door and console. Never again, and Ford dealerships are no better.

I’ve been in Ford service for 25 years and I’ve never seen anything even remotely like this but yes it is unfortunately common/normal this year.

There is a pretty much nationwide shortage of technicians, parts, and rental cars.

My store and most every one in my town is booking a month out.

🤷‍♂️

Every time I read a post like this it just reminds me of how ridiculously close everything is in other states compared to Texas. 45 minutes is almost how long it takes me to get to the closest dealerships around.

Same living in North Dakota. My closest dealer Is an hour and a half away. Tomorrow morning I’m driving 3 hours one way to a different dealer I ordered my Bronco through, to go pick it up.

I don’t think it’s to common maybe your dealership is short handed not enough staff I am getting my first oil change as I type this and the tires rotated also getting them to look into the parking brake fault message I got randomly twice since getting my bronco in december
