Mostly gas mileage.

I'm keenly interested in a PHEV for the same reason. Need to direct our solar toward a vehicle.Mostly gas mileage.
I would guess the the 2.7 will be tied to a bunch of stuff $$$ that you may not want........If it's a 1 to 2k difference, then I'll swallow and go 2.7. But if it's 3k and/or doesn't offer the 7mt then it's not for me. Ford offers the dealer tune for the 2.3 , and for all we know the 2.3 in the bronco may be tuned higher from factory.. this assuming both motors can tow the same.
Where did you get this info from?I would guess the the 2.7 will be tied to a bunch of stuff $$$ that you may not want........
Yep... that's my worry.I would guess the the 2.7 will be tied to a bunch of stuff $$$ that you may not want........

Are you getting the 2.3 or 2.7?My fear is the Bronco will make certain powertrain options only available on certain trims like many other vehicles are.
I just want to pick the motor, transmission, and gears without it being tied to any particular package.
Depends on the pairing. An absolute must for me is the 7sp MT. I want the lowest gears, but will make do with the middle. If I get the lowest gears, the 2.3 will provide more than enough power. Are you getting the 2.3 or 2.7?
