I build, tear down, and inspect engines for a living and as a hobby. engine break-in is a myth. Once it's up to operating temp. Drive it how you want to drive it. The engine is dyno tested at the assembly plant harder than 99.999% of people will ever drive it. It's "broken in" before the customer takes delivery

And I can't wait to get mine and get some data to disprove those myths.

8+ seconds is excessive unless you're at altitude. I think a full second could be taken off that time easily. I don't see why a FE couldn't go 0-60 in the 7 second range with a proper launch. I think the a base could do it in the 6 second range

So doing more research I’ve found this article and this video explaining “torque management”

Apparently GM has the cpu set with limited torque for the first 500 miles. Not sure if this is only for the Vette but it could be a thing for the Bronco too with its fancy transmission and goat modes.

Don't have a lot of time to explain right now, but here's a link of what I'll probably go with. Don't fool with intakes and exhaust unless you want the noise. Waist of money for power. $475 for a tuner with a dyno built tune for your speficic application. I can elaborate later, but I'm sure others will jump in to assist.

At some point, it’s better to just be real and acknowledge what weaknesses it may have.

At 5,000lbs with 300hp you're in the low 7-second range. Yes, using sport mode, premium gas, and AWD (and, honestly, a much better launch technique that that video), you might break 7 seconds but really, who cares? We're not buying a 2.5-ton off-road truck to play highway red light with honda civics.

LOL. No. There are lots of links like that. I picked the one with the least number of questions since power-to-weight ratio is the dominate driver. It's just a good guide for how fast a vehicle can accelerate, and it's based on physics, which is a branch of science .

Brake stand, spool up the turbos and let er rip. Also make sure the GOAT mode isn't in Eco......Normal or Sport only.

Would easily get a quicker time.

They're 32mm wheels with what's probably a .42 or smaller turbine side AR. It doesn't take much. In fact I'd wager a traditional brake torque is probably going to send them straight to surge territory and the ECU will start pulling timing and open the wastegates.
