I tell'ya what makes a difference....CHICAGO. Try one & you'll never eat a Dakota dog again. Go to Portillos & tell'em I sent you.
I was born and raised in Michigan.... IMHO Chicago hot dogs... even Portillos... don't have a thing on a Detroit Coney. Even better then a Detroit coney... is a Flint coney.

Portillos is no longer family owned... They sold out awhile back to a Boston Based investment group. I would expect it won't be long and it will go downhill. It did bring over 1 billion dollars when it sold. I've only eaten at one twice... nothing I had was good enough to go back a third time.

Back to the topic of pizza....

I prefer it with Provel cheese instead of mozzarella. It's a St. Louis thing and it is delicious.
Imo's is hard to beat pizza chain wise. Every time we go back to MO we eat there.

I've never heard of it.

We do have "toasted" ravioli which are actually fried. Very good with marinara sauce.

Tosted Ravs from the hill... Born and raised near STL, now live in the desert. There is not much I miss about MO, food is a rare exception. (But we have awesome food here too, just different)

Is a taco a sandwich? Also where did the word sandwich come from?

I like turtles.
They're good eating, but a PIA to clean, trying to claw at you for over an hour after decapitation. I wouldn't usually bother with anything less than a 30+lb snapper.

Pressure tenderized, then fried in a light batter is my favorite.
