3 STAR & Unrated Crash Score!

As a Bronco Reservation holder for two years now, I wonder if anyone else is concern about the crash safety of Bronco! I mean Bronco is a cool car with lots of off-road capabilities but would it be safe enough to have your family in it when there’s no proper rating on it!

Doesn't bother me. I'm 44 and have bought I can't tell ya how many cars/trucks and I don't think I have ever looked at those ratings on one of them. Especially since for a lot of those vehicles these ratings weren't even a thing.

If I had to "rate the ratings" I would put the crash test right next to fuel economy when going up against "but I want it". No surprise "but I want it" ranks higher than both of them.

I couldn't tell you the crash rating of any vehicle I have owned in the last 40+ years. If you are that concerned, don't buy one. Better yet, buy one but don't crash.

Lab testing for crash worthiness is only worth so much. In real world vehicle accidents they are so many variables that can't be replicated in a test. You could take the top rated vehicle in testing and a real world crash still kills or injures everyone onboard.

You shouldn't be surprised that a body on frame vehicle with packages up to 35" tires scores a 3 star rollover rating. Additionally, when was the last time you bought a vehicle simply off the crash rating scores; turning down a vehicle that drove better, looked better, and was something you enjoyed more for a vehicle with a higher crash score? I would guess, like the majority of people, never. Much like the gas mileage, it's a non factor for me.

IIHS ratings. Good enough for me. Rollover is not surprising in the least.
