Is it confirmed that the manual transmission will be available for both engine options (2.3 I4 and 2.7 v6)? Now I know the 2.3 is going to be the base engine but i wonder because the 2.0 turbo is an upgrade on the JL wrangler and isn’t available with manual. I think a 2 door, 2.7v6, manual transmission, is what I want

It would be a bad move to lock the 2.7 to the 10R80, but I also don't see Ford letting it be a free-for-all. I would expect some give and take. Locked to certain trims/packages

Edit: what you're asking for is one of those combinations I think will be a tricky spec.

Not a big deal. No need for the 2.7. Big 4-banger vs small 6-cyl. The big 4-banger worked fine in SAAB 9-5's. Super quick from 30-70 MPH.

Front dig is the bigger issue in my mind.

I was looking at the specs released this morning and manual was only available in th 4 banger. I hope you're correct because that's what I want (7 speed) with a 2.7.

Ford stated in their FAQ that the Manual was designed only for the 2.3 and will not be available on the 2.7.

That’s just such a dumb move... like, it can handle the torque of the 2.7, why not just design another bellhousing that works with the 2.7? I mean, shit, there’s been rumors circling for years about the possibility of a TTV6 Mustang, and this is going to be the trans in the next gen Mustang... why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone?

I’m not disputing the numbers. I’m just lamenting and pushing hard because I happen to be part of that 2-5%.

2-5% of wranglers are sold with a manual.

the 2.3L is already engineered from the mustang, the 2.7L manual would be a new application from what I know of Fords powertrain lineup.

its a bit suprising they didnt allow sasquatch +2.3L Manual since both already exist.

its not at all surprising they did not bother to engineer a 2.7L manual.
