The explorer launch cost the CEO of Ford his job.

They could still blame a lot of this on Hackett since he was still running things until October of last year. Maybe he was all-in on approving the Webasto deal? Have we checked his stock holdings?

Stopped in at my dealer this afternoon. Confirmed that I hadn't been converted to a 99. He said don't be surprised if I don't see my first evening, 2dr Badlands SAS High, 2.7l no tow, no roof racks until 2022. He also said that they've had zero builds scheduled as of yet, and there are several 2 and 4 door FE even.

Everyone has a limit to their patience. I've ordered something else, but I'm hoping I get any positive news from Ford in the next 4-6 weeks . . .

Questions I keep asking myself--
- how long to stay in limbo with zero information about a possible delivery date?
- If Ford released an estimated delivery date, would I rely on it?
- will i wait until December? March?
- Do I want to take delivery of a Bronco with a defective roof (MIC) with no known repair/replacement date?
- could I sell a bronco with a defective roof?

For real though, this is getting a bit much. How were they so completely blindsided by this MIC thing?

How did Ford not know this prior to going into production. It amazes me they screwed the pooch this bad on something so basic as QC'ing the tops and making sure Webasto was ready to go "full speed"

I have a funny feeling that a large number of MIC they have on hand are being used for the purgatory broncos. If the line is wide open this week, it is probably cranking out a ton of 4D softies - hopefully for customer orders.

I pre-ordered a 2022 RS3. Looks like i'll be getting that first and they aren't even available to order yet.

Related, VW launched the id.4 a few months back, and they're already making deliveries. they don't seem to have commodity constraints....

They also don't have roofs made by webasto either, to be fair.
