We run them that way on the racecar (other way of course) and the knuckle bends before the stud does...should be fine for offroad. More concerned about keeping mud out of the rack, and those hiems don't like bad weather...snow/salt etcThat's good at least.
Also having that rod end in single shear isn't optimal (as proven by that failed RPG) but not a lot you can do there without welding a tab to the knuckle.
