Going through the DC area was always unpredictable seemed like they were always doing roadwork and closing down lanes. I've hit really bad construction traffic at all hours. Check apps for traffic conditions and alternate routes even if way out of the way.

Problem with non-stop driving is, you end up wiped out when you get there, and no one else is tired.

I'd just crash at you buddies in SC for the night. Then leave the next day at 5-6a and be there for noon.

Gotta get an ipod that works with the system, apple doesnt upload the cd’s and ripped music, this my playlists feel off, like MIC 1.0
I don't know how to take a solo trip without a cd player. I guess if I ever get my Bronco I will have to come up with a new strategy (or get a portable player😘😘).

My longest single-day solo trip was 13 hours driving. Took me 16 hours. But that's how I like to do it. Every gas stop includes some unnecessary other activity. I very HIGHLY recommend this. Set aside several extra hours. Stopping at a Target or park to just walk around makes a huge difference.

And most importantly...
Make sure the snacks and drinks are easy to reach without taking your eyes off the road.

Overdrive app for audiobooks. I can’t hit the road without somebody reading me a good story.

Luckily, the Bronco is a great road tripper. Very comfortable seats.

Definitely follow the "stop and nap if tired" advice.

Being fully packed a day or two beforehand is very helpful, load Bronco as early as possible, night before if an early AM start. That way in the AM, grab coffee, the last few personal items and GO!

Make a punch list and check those items off as you pack load, add to it as things occur to you.

Hopefully , when departure time comes , all that is left is the personal stuff, like we've forgotten the small drink cooler in the garage fridge ... not earth shattering, but an annoyance none the less.

My personal favorite 12 hour trip, I was in GREAT spirits, wanted to DRIVE hard!
At fuel stops, literally started the fuel and ran in and grabbed a Subway sammich & drink, ran out, finished fueling and HIT IT!
PIT STOP!
Turned the 12 hr trip into a personal best of 10 hours.
South Shore of Lake Michigan to Charlotte, NC .... 700+ miles

LOVE driving the twistys through the mountains!

Long story short, going to Jeep beach but leaving a day earlier than planned as my buddy from SoCar is joining us, so Im picking him up. Figure Id leave around 4-5am, then other than gas and food, should be there by the evening.

Never did 12hrs though, longest was 8-10 and it was with my ex, though she was either sleeping or being quiet.

Any tips and pointers from those who’ve done it before, as I essentially over 2 months to prepare? Thanks in advance
12+ hours is a long drive but nothing out of the ordinary. Just stop every 3-4 hours and walk a little.

Have homes in VA and FL so 12hrs has gotten to almost be a commute for me. It helps if you’ve done the route enough times that you know the fuel and restroom stops as easy in and out and clean. NPR keeps me engaged or Pandora on CSNY channel.
Dogs have gotten so good at traveling that they only require one pit stop….good Boyz!
Helps to have either a large fuel tank or good mpg, or both….I think starting to do these in Bronco will require adjustments in my logistics.

take the top off ! That’ll keep you awake at 80mph.

i think the longest solo trip I did was 12 hours in a snow storm upstate NY. Was NOT fun and was a long time ago in college days.

Our college housemate once drove straight from Colorado to New York like 30 hours because we were having a Keg party. He partied for a few hours and they we didnt see him for like 2 days lol.

As has been said:
stop when and as frequently as you need to
Take a nap in a rest stop if you need to
Don't overdo it, better to arrive late than not at all

I've done 12+ hour days riding a superbike, it was by no means pleasant, but all of the above were key.
