QA processes should be in place to catch stuff like that. Here are two examples where they did not. I understand that things happen but resolving issues quickly and to the satisfaction of customers is a mark of good customer service. 90% of the customers don’t care about plant tours or even an apology from the owner - they want their stuff right or fixed quickly to their satisfaction. On top of that, I don’t care if they get 1000s of emails a day. They need to figure out a way to manage them.
Mine was resolved the moment I called them so I'm happy. The next business, large or small, that I hear about that no one is not happy with....................will be my first.

Well- Unfortunately I CANNOT recommend the Hammerbuilt system. After 1 winter in MN (BTW a record LOW winter for snow/temps which means very little salt) there is a fair amount of rust forming, mainly in the small nooks and crannies, but also along the edges. It is also pretty bad where the bolts go through, i guess ill give them a pass there as MAYBE the boltshave something to do with it.

Checked a few weeks ago and actually have powdercoat chipping/flaking on the edges, in some pretty big chunks.

Hammerbuilt was receptive and easy enough to talk to about it, but at the end of the day they said it was "Normal" and they do not warranty their powdercoat. They told me it looks likes I'm due for a powder coat refresh, which is absolutely insane as I haven't even had this for 1 year.

It's pretty clear the powdercoat was not up to par. I have a few other powdercoated things, such as a fab fours front bumper that's been through 2 winters, and that has NO rust on it.

Bummer cause I like their system

FYI, Broncbuster has two photos of hinges that dont match and one is an exact copy of the RTR pic on their site:

I am pulling the trigger on either the TOR or the RTR soon, I'm just agonizing over the decision. When you add up the price of the TOR reinforcement and tire carrier its within a couple $$$ of the RTR so thats not helping me make a decision. RTR is a little lighter weight than the TOR combo and looks a bit more sleek vs heavy duty. There seems to be a lot less chatter on the forums and interwebs on the RTR though. Does that mean people buy less of them vs TOR or are just less vocal about their choice?
Anyone have strong feelings for or against the RTR?

How well do these tire carriers play with the Rakattach? I'm planning to get a Rakattach but I'm concerned that the spare will be further away from the back and possibly interfere with the bikes. Does anyone with one of these tire carriers also have a Rakattach and can comment?

After digging into some older threads - due to the fact that the Smittybilt isn’t reinforced behind all 4 bolts of the tire carrier - @Turn Offroad won my allegiance. I regret not getting their rear bumper on a daily basis. I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice.

I saw yesterday that that buttercup YouTube channel has some new billet machined hinges available...

They look awesome, but I don't think it's solving the main problem that the bronco rear door has (structural rigidity on that rear panel).

They did mention in the launch video that they will be offering accessories - so perhaps they'll have a reinforcement plate.

Myself - I went with the mountains 2 metal way back when I first got my bronco, and am very happy because of all of the accessory options they have. It even ended up working fine with my x-rack over tire shelf.

@flashpunk did you have to make any mods to anything for the x-rack over tire shelf? Are you using their shelf brackets too?

No mods needed to install and use as advertised. Im using the full setup from x-rack - so yes I guess that means their shelf brackets. The one thing I did do is to mount the shelf slightly lower is drill out custom height holes, I think it saved me an inch or two.
