I would not say I’m a Ford person though. If another company made a better product, I would jump ship.
Let’s say there was an announcement tomorrow that Toyota was making a new FJ. This said FJ would be a convertible, doors off, wheeling machine with lockers front and rear, 35’s and bead lock wheels.
I would be all over it. I know they won’t make it but if they did, I would be under the impression that the quality would be much better than the Bronco.
This is my fourth ford. I’ve had 4 GM vehicles, and 4 mopars. My fords have been the funnest, my mopars have been the nicest, and my GMs have been the most reliable.
Fords have been in my family since they were buying Model A's new off the lot. I've been in and around broncos since the 70's. A 71' was my first vehicle.
My first and only Ford was a 2000 Ford Escort many years ago. It was such an incredible driving experience, and I have had a Ford shaped hole in my heart ever since it left me on the side of the road.
My favorite trucks have been my 05’ and 2017 superduty’s followed closely by 1988-92s f250’s , and I’ve had two early 90’s bronco’s that I have fond memories of.
I’ve had lots of Fords, Chevys, and Toyotas. Never been a big Chrysler fan, but Jeeps are cool. I‘ve always liked Broncos, even though I had never owned one. When the 6G was announced, it just called my name…
never had a Ford, never looked at what they have, drove some as rentals I'm sure, but never paid much attention to what ever random car I got.
Hardly ever saw an old Bronco here and the OJ version is just plain ugly to me. Saw this thing when my son reminded me of the reveal (he's the car guy) and I watched it, loved it and by midnight west coast time got my reservation in. Picked it up in October, love it, most fun car I've ever had. But if it said Toyota or VW or what ever else on the front, I'd love it just the same, don't care who makes it or where it's made, it's just perfect for my use. Could be made by martians on the moon and I'd still have ordered one.
Now I just hope it holds up as good as my 19 year old Tacoma with $25 in repairs (aside of consumables like breaks etc) in 125k miles and I'll be happy. Almost 4k miles in with only a minor glitch, so far so good
Also might add it's only because I had a foot injury and was on crutches for 3 months and then Covid shut everything down, so buying a new car would have been silly because nobody went anywhere. Otherwise I'd have that Mojito Green Rubicon I was gonna get for my birthday in May that year. Unfortunately for Jeep, all that happened and then there was a cyber orange CGI Bronco bouncing through the desert, with no "sports" bar above my head. Sold.
I guess I kind of am a ford guy by default. First car was a 92 explorer my dad gave me, sold it and bought a 94 Mustang GT. Also had a 2015 explorer for a few years and now a now my daily driver is a bronco sport. I have a 2 door black diamond on order but might wait it out for the next gen ranger, as my wife is pregnant with our 4th daughter. Either way my next car will be a ford, they are rolling out some great vehicles right now. I just wish we could get the Everest in North America, I would have bought one yesterday.
Ford has its pluses and minuses overall.
Currently 62 years old and have never owned any vehicle that wasn’t a Ford or a Mercury.
Currently own:
2011 F 150 crew
2006 Mustang GT convertible
2018 Mustang GT
2009 Mercury Milan
1970 Mach1
Yeah, Official Ford guy. Why stray from a product that has provided exceptional performance throughout my lifetime?
