Any update with the 300hz blockers?
Yes they sound good but I need an additional wiring harness to hear them both with the 300 htz and without any blocker to determine if there is a significant difference. Tested the Kicker with the 300hz again and hertz sounded a little better.

I should get a few more wiring harnesses Fri.

I donā€™t think it will be worth ripping out the 4ā€ kicker CS in the rear without upgrading to 6.5s.

Iā€˜m curious to see both of your set ups as I plan to do the same. Keep us posted!

Iā€™m waiting for the test too, before buttoning everything back up and driving it again.

The 4ā€ kicker CS that Iā€™m not using will go into coworkers bronco. Need to see if the same blockers tested good with them in my rig will sound the same in his without B&O.

Next thing I might do later is update the pods for 6.5s add Kicker KS. Iā€™m not going to touch the kick panel again, unless I plan to update the amp.

Results are in:
Get the 300hz bass blockers! Tested with and without installed at the same time. Without blockers, louder, more treble/sharp actually, and clearer. The treble and sharpness without any blocker is too much imo, and cannot be equalized.

With blockers, more bass, more dynamic fuller sound, but quieter. It was quite evident listening to All Right Now classic rock song by Fire and Water. Yep. I only have one blocker so, waiting on another order.

Iā€™m still shocked there is more bass with the 300hz bass blocker. šŸ¤”

Odd, my rear audio in the back keeps cutting off after 20 mins.

Current setup, which Iā€™m fine with for now.

B&O OEM Amp, Sub, kick panel.

Front: HERTZ Dieci Series DCX-1003 $130 w/ 300hz Bass Blockers

Center: PRV AUDIO 4 Inch Midrange Speaker 4MR60-4 $24

Rears: 4ā€ Kicker CS. $62 correction, replacing with Hertz 4ā€

I think it might be worth getting the Hertz for the rear if they are louder. But, since I already have the kickers, Iā€™m just going to leave them. Itā€™s more of a sound fill.

I really appreciate you documenting each step of the way with incremental results. I've been following along and would probably replicate your setup. I wish to do simple speaker swaps only. Thank you for your trials!

If I didnā€™t have so many Kicker CS, I would get the Hertz or Kicker KS for the rears. Iā€™m sure upgrading to 6.5 Pods would be the most effective, but Iā€™m not going down that road and dropping another $300. The hetz 4ā€ without blockers, might be loud and clear enough to heat back there.

Eq set to Stereo. Treble and bass 3 clicks from max. Midrange 3 clicks from center. A audio guy told me that, sounds good.

Wouldn't 6.5" in the rears require more power to drive resulting in lowered volume over the 4"?

Also try negatives in an EQ, everything in reference to zero as your max. You can't amplify a signal without degrading it. So keep your treble and bass at 0 level, then set your mid to the appropriate negative. It may sound better.

Yeah thatā€™s what Iā€™ve been wondering, but there are people here that added them without upgrading. Mostly people without B&O that can FORscan more power to the rears. That said, without doing anything, a bigger speaker should move more air and more sound right? Simple physics, which I failed šŸ˜ž

Just tested the Kicker CS and Hertz against each other (no blockers) in fronts. Hertz wins in clarity and overall sound. They are a bit louder too.

Yes, itā€™s worth getting hertz for the 4 speakers. Even with just swapping w/ 4ā€.

Buying more Hertz I guess uhh. No blockers on the rears.

The balance of sound should be perfect with the loudness & clarity of Hertz without blockers in the rear and with blockers in the fronts.

I just did a quick swap of the Hertz DCX 165.3 in the passenger kick panel and I think it's an improvement
everything is subjective, but to me better clarity, range and much better mids and high's

slighly less overall volume and not as heavy on the low's as the b&o

thanks for the feedback on the blockers @WheresMyCar
on the weekend I'll swap out the driver kick panel and try blockers on the front's
