Was it the badlands? I believe that's the only one with a washout floor.

Yes it was:

Ford Bronco BD with MGV and carpet behind rear seats?? 5E14E1B6-16BA-4023-8C3A-7C824B38274F
I may be mistaken then, unless they snap onto the seat back, if anyone's feeling adventurous as of 12/6/20 at 5pm, there was easily over 100 bronco sports lined up in spots outside on the lots of theMAP.

Snap on over carpet would be even worse than carpet seems like moisture heaven

Zooming in on the pic I took, it looks like there’s a separate plastic piece laying on top of the main plastic piece already attached in the rear cargo hold. This separate plastic piece definitely looks like it attaches to the back of the rear seats over the carpet.

Here’s the separate plastic piece circled in red:

Yeah I agree. I only say maybe it's that because those knubs on the seats look very similar to the knubs you snap your floor mats into. Honestly the only reason I can think of for having a vinyl/plastic seat back is so sharp objects you but back there don't tear the carpet. I guess if you have the top off a lot it would be nice, but I'll honestly maybe take the whole too off once per year for like 2 days, michigan isn't great for weather prediction accuracy lol. Things like chainsaws, garden equipment, and anything with jagged edges. But I don't even know if you could fit a chainsaw in the 2 door with the seats in the upright position, so it may be a moot point.

I wonder if that rear tray cover underneath is standard, pretty cool if it is.

It’s $130 on the B&P for the Sport. Hopefully the regular Bronco will have something similar.
If not, weather-tech will have something within weeks of first delivery.

It looks like the 21MY will have the carpet on the seats based on the BroncoNation interview. “Maybe” future years will have a different solution. This really bums me out. I loved my ‘97 Defender 90 for the pure rubber and vinyl interior. Easy to clean from beach to mountain. Carpet screws this up. A rubber mat over it would just trap moisture. I might delay my order over this.
I’ve started wondering if any rubberized flooring products could cover the carpet to waterproof it. There are spray on and roll on, lots of options. Just curious if anyone has experience...

Carpet is fine with me, since the rear seats will just be hanging out in my garage, hopefully staying out of the way.

It's more idiotic decision making to go along with the already idiotic decision making in regards to the interiors. I am ordering a BD and literally the only place on the ENTIRE vehicle that will have carpet is the seat backs...finish it in hard plastic clowns.

Can of Scotch Guard, $12 at Walmart or dealer applied for $399. Not a solution for dogs obviously, but will help shed water if caught in the rain.

This is my
Ford Bronco BD with MGV and carpet behind rear seats?? Scothgard
go to solution for now for the carpet on the back seats.
Hope it works as advertised.
