cmon on now... as much as I'd like to point and laugh and make a Ford joke (Yeah whatever fight me!), never underestimate the power of a dolt that doesn't know how to wheel... And, isn't it just ranger bits underneath?

Yep it's this guy.

This failure happened at Katemcy Rocks offroad park. There is a video of the failure occuring on his TikTok. This guy wheels hard.
LOL that would explain why I saw it on a trailer heading south on 281 earlier this week

One thing that definitely does add stress is a lack of wheel offset. Poked wheels add stress to everything.
I would've thought more offset would mean more stress, is that not correct?

In the context of your quoted post:

More offset = more offset in the positive direction.

Less offset = more offset in the negative direction.

IE -44 wheels have less offset than -20 which have less than +15.

Gets confusing because some will use “more offset” as a term for “more negative offset”.

Lower offset typically = more poke, all things being equal

It's good to see somebody is on top of this but it looks like it might be the inner rod that snapped clean at the outer joint, though it's hard to tell from the picture.

Yes indeed, as does a lift. The more lift, the more angle on the tie rods, and the more vertical force at the joints, and the more tension/compression in the tie rods.

Has this been an issue on other makes / models?
Truly curious, not arguing.

Your statement is logical, but on the other hand, the 190 is rated as stronger than the old school Dana 44's.
So really, have there been other vehicles that ran an iron case center and aluminum case center at the same time?

In either case, this will make for an outstanding case study since there will be so many of each version set up nearly identically.

How many more times do you think I can squaeeze the word "case" in there? LOL

Well HD I do not have any direct comparison, just my experience drag racing and wheeling for the last 35+ years

I'll start with this from an Autoweek article first just to put the numbers in perpective.

This 👇 Has awesome info about comparing the 190 and 210 in the Ranger. ;)

..... and this is straight from the horses mouth Dana

AdvanTEK® Axle Technology - Axle | Spicer Parts

Now as far as my aluminum vs cast iron part. I will say I have only ever seen an M210 axle.

......with it's cast iron center section. For the record we have worked on Toyotas and they all have all had an iron center section. They are HEAVY.

So I do not have hard data, only just by reading what I have posted above, as they compare it to a Dana 44 and THAT I know. So I am just "reading" between the lines to come up with how I feel about this whole diff thing because things have gone from old school to new school. I need to keep up so I know what I am getting with my Bronc.😁

edit: if you look under the Bronco tag on the Spicer website. It will take you to this.

This was not there last time I was at their website. Dana 35 = M190. Dana 44 = M210.

I thought the Badlands had the 210 as well...

Correct the BL does have the M210. So does the WT and the FE. Trims lower than BL must Squatch it to get the M210.
