Bronco Mass Production - 6/10 Update. Good news from MAP - body shop output now matches Ranger

How many pre orders did the Ranger have to fulfill?

Not nearly as many as Bronco. But they were shaking down the entire reservation and pre-order process that Bronco is now using.

We all know they aren't going to get Bronco production up to a level to fulfill 100% of reservations within the first 4 months. It became obvious they weren't going to accomplish that within a week of opening the reservation system, so it would seem odd to pretend that didn't happen and wasn't abundantly clear.

They've pumped out a good stock before the staffing change in Plymouth next week. I'm not sure how quickly they'll crank back up in appreciable numbers once the new team is going.

I’m just wondering how many 2DR tops are being made compared to 4DR tops. I have a day 1 reservation and am #1 at My dealer on a 2Dr Base with Sasquatch and aux switches ( pretty bare bones ) but I haven’t got a build date. I have read the entire thread but information as to 2DR builds is scarace.

I've seen it talked about that 2dr tops were maybe not as constrained as 4dr tops so I knew where you were coming from and I wanted to put that rumor to bed one way or the other too.

Within 4 months of their first model year, every pre-order had been satisfied while at the same time making a supply for their dealership network.

Rick confirms it - All Bronco reservations will be filled within 4 months!

Maybe I just have selective hearing/reading though… Or wishful thinking…

100,000 Broncos was NEVER going to happen in 21MY with post-COVID supply chain constraints, and ESPECIALLY now with the well-documented problems at Webasto. 22MY is a different story entirely, because it’s a full production year.

Sorry to have to tell you that, but it’s the truth, no matter how many times you run your numbers and claim otherwise.

After delivering some not-so-great news earlier on the Webasto front, I figured my brothers and sisters here were due for some encouraging news out of MAP.

Today marked the first day that the Bronco body shop matched the Ranger body shop output 1:1 with around 120 bodies completed in one *shift* This isn't a final assembly number, but it's a huge first step.

Daily Bronco totals off of Final Assembly should hit at least 150 by next week.

Over the next several weeks, the FA blend will elevate to produce 3 Broncos to 1 Ranger. By the time all systems are at full speed in early August, expect a 5:1 or even 7:1 ratio to protect as much of the 2021 forecast as possible.

While there are obvious commodity issues impacting which builds can be scheduled, the biggest hindrance in overall raw production numbers for Bronco remains within the closure lines... especially the door stations. These cycle times have not yet been set as procedures are still being adjusted.

Even with all the commodity issues, Bronco production is right on track for the timeline we've been discussing for months. I know individual build delays are frustrating, but they're ramping up to pump them out just as quickly as they can.
