Op, I understand your situation and think many on this forum will flip their Bronco…..especially due to the most recent delay. Heck, it’s been encouraged on this site for people not to walk away and let the dealer make the markup when the reservation holder can make the markup. We know it happens all the time especially with the hard-to-get items for anything. The problem you are encountering here now is elevated frustration from those of us that just want ours….to keep! Scalpers will never go away no matter what rules/laws are in place. The issue you have here is asking for help on a matter that deeply frustrates a lot of people who have no idea if/when we will get ours. To add to that, they way you went about it by putting it up for sale prior to even owning the Bronco opened the door to a lot of criticism.

I’d never do what you did, in fact, offered 2nd reservation to a lot of friends and family which my brother ended up taking.…at no cost.

You came here for advise so here is mine…..It sounds like you had every intention of keeping the Bronco when you reserved it; however, due timing and circumstances you won’t be able to keep it. Since you already have the funding, buy the Bronco and see if you like it better than the other vehicle you had to buy for the interim and make a choice on which one you want to keep. cheers

This is no different than venues or music acts who seek to avoid selling to ticket scalpers.

Ford is right to block the sale. No sympathy here. Ford should not knowingly support scalping or sell to known scalpers.

The dealerships do it what's the difference? They can mark them up but you can't!

Alright, just like many of you that are reading this, I put my deposit on my bronco the first day I could last year. In May I get my vin and schedule for production. Fast forward to last Wednesday, and my Bronco is Delivered. Just like another dealer had advised me, I put the bronco on Ebay. Thursday evening I had a buyer lined up and ready to go. I was going away for the weekend so I waited until monday to have the Bronco delivered. Yesterday morning came and went without any contact from the dealership. So I messaged, and waited. Messaged and waited. Finally I get a response that the deal is on hold because the dealer is afraid I'm going to sell it to someone who "may" export it. I have a bill of sale, I have already done the loan at the bank and have a check in hand while getting charged interest on a vehicle I don't have. And I have the deposit on the Bronco. What can I do to get my Bronco?

If you have a contract, you should enforce it. Wonder if there's language in there about reselling. Personally, I don't have much sympathy for you. About the same feeling I have for the ticket scalpers that have priced me out of every show I wanted to see in a large venue for the last ten years. Praise the lord for punk rock.

Just a quick question...
Say you had a 2dr Bronco that you sold after purchase and the new owner has no idea about the top issue (due to the fact the Ford response wasn't made at the time) and that Ford is going to replace it for free. Is there a way that person will be notified by Ford to, "hey, com get your free hard top"?

Nice find! I have a rule when it comes to bourbon, cant open the bottle unless I have a backup…..UNLESS it’s an extraordinary occasion. I made a bad mistake with Weller Full Proof, didn’t have a backup and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it was sweet holy nectar! Wish it was still on my shelf!

I believe I learned this the hard way!! I've never had full proof but now I've got my eyes open!

I took a 2015 bottle of EH Taylor Barrel Proof to my daughter and her fiancé for her birthday. Bought the bottle for probably $70 back in 2015. After I gave it to her I looked it up and it was priced on the flipper market for somewhere between $700 and $2000. Crazy. We'll enjoy it at the wedding in a couple of months.

That is an unrelated issue. Ideally, the scalper would have cancelled his order and Ford would have fulfilled a different reservation.

If the dealer thinks you are selling it to an exporter, they may have good reason to not sell it to you. I'm not certain, but there are dealer agreements between the dealer and certain OEMs that they will not sell to exporters. If they do knowingly sell it to an exporter, there can be extreme fines imposed by the OEM. I don't know that Ford does this specifically, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Even if that is true, the dealer is not selling it to an exporter, but rather to the customer. And the customer is unrestrained from such issues. They can sell to anyone they please.

If the scalper canceled the dealer would have kept the order . Marked it up and made a profit just like he was going to do

Your rights depend on the contract you signed with the dealer when you ordered the car. Since you have not provided a copy of that contract (correct me if I'm wrong) on this forum, nobody on this forum, me included, can advise you on what your rights are or what you can do.

I will offer the unsolicited advice that selling something that you don't yet possess all too often comes to tears.
