Full disclosure, it’s 20 minutes but worth watching all the way through. Based on this, I’m honestly impressed Ford is able to build any Broncos at all. Really gives some context about what our friends in the supply chain are dealing with. Also gives me some hope that the lessons of the pandemic will actually be beneficial for handling future crisis.

Everyone needs to watch this, not just B6G members…everyone. I was just talking about this in another thread. Too man cans here. Shipping costs have more than quadrupled for my business and consumer demand has far outpaced the supply chains capacity to deliver.

yes but Ford should have consulted the magic 8 ball and seen it all coming
Some of us who are in manufacturing have been blowing the whistle for years in our industries. But, bean counters don't want to listen to engineers....I can go into a month long rant on that....so...here we are, I have fairly standard equipment that should be able to be shipped in 2-4 weeks will take 34 weeks to construct and ship.

Many on this site will not believe this video nor the reality in front of them. It’s all Fords fault and they reserved a Bronco, you know.

The complaint concerning reservations and orders is Ford going back on their commitment to fill orders first. They now claim they are building vehicles that have the available parts and do not match an order. If this is true, then as a pro customer concern, Ford should open up the order process to every reservation holder made up to 12/31/20 and see if any of these mystery Broncos can fulfill any of those orders. I agree there are supply issues with products, but there are plenty of products that have rolled right along despite this event.

Did you actually watch the video? It is Ford's fault. They went to a just-in-time model without accounting for the potential problems. Without following all the details that Toyota implemented. Without recognizing, like Toyota did, that they should stockpile a larger supply of semiconductor chips. The music stopped and Ford got left without a chair. And people here left without a Bronco.

So clearly Ford is taking the pull method to the extreme! Guessing there will be plenty of business case studies on this!
