Oh, fully understood (the different leakage issue). Point here is the cracked roofs won't be the first and only class action for tops. I will be contacting that firm to let them know about this issue and the various forums, website, etc. that have been created about it. The only way to deal with this is through legal action. Asking for a longer warranty isn't going to do it, because the replacements need replacements.Reading (and comprehension) is fundamental.
For the umteenth time, this poll is NOT to determine what percentage of people have a problem. The ONLY way to get that information is through discovery from Ford. No participation trophy for you!The problem with this “poll” is it is inherently biased or should say biased for the response you want. You can’t say 37% of the responders need replacement or 17% filed warranty claims if you don’t have a percentage with no issues. @2023bronco is in the “I’m grumpy phase of ownership and want to engage with fellow grumpy people.”
Do you have pictures of the type of damage yours had? Was it denied due to being too close to the warranty end date? After having it over a month the dealer finally found out Fords decision on my top, they denied it. I'm still waiting on the official reason, but previously the service tech said they were questioning why the milage was just under 36,000 and why it took so long to get it in to get the repair started (2 months for them to get the top)
HOWEVER, they (Ford) are willing to cover $4600 of it if I cover $3100...I mean really?!? wth
the Service Manager just responded to my e-mail saying "Ford did not decline the repairs they approved goodwill out of warranty repairs with a copay" which it wasn't out of warranty, so I'll be going up there tomorrow to see what went wrong.Do you have pictures of the type of damage yours had? I too waited until I was right at the end of my 3/36,000. Took it to the Dealer April 18th, who says no problem we've had a lot of these, I'll write it up and call you when we get the parts... 2 months later parts finally come in. Now the Service rep is telling me Ford is questioning why I waited so long, why it's taken so long to get the replacement, and sending a Ford rep out to physically look at the top before they will approve it
I just wanted to wait as long as possible in hopes they figure it out, or break down and offer the painted top as a replacement option with an upcharge.
Apparently Ford already denied replacing my crumbling window switches claiming it's just normal wear
