To my knowledge, there are no laws in place regarding tire exposure.

I wonder what would happen if you took off the fenders instead of just the fender flares :unsure:

Around here it just depends on whether it's the front or the back fenders. Remove the front fenders and you will get a ticket for operating an unsafe vehicle on the highway. Remove the complete bed from your truck and no one even notices.

Been pulled over for rubber outside fender/flare. Definitely laws here in Utah. No more yearly state inspections here but was issue at one point. Always wondered why is it ok for trucks to run bedless or semis with no trailers rolling down highway but my sidewall outside fender/flare got fix it ticket.

Another protected class here are classic license plated cars like T-buckets and roadsters that have no fender whatsoever.

I’ve never had a issue….when my buggy was still tagged I used to drive it on the roads in Colorado with zero tire coverage….both of my broncos now have tires that stick way out past the fenders.
