Yes I've often lifted the entire front or rear of various vehicles using one centered jack on a live axle or frame. Haven't had issues with that approach.

I agree, that’s how most tire shops do it.

Seen a lot of recommendations for the badlands 3ton. Any reason no one has mentioned the proeagle 3 ton Abrahams for the same price? It’s not the big tires/wheels like the badlands but OP said he was looking for doing garage work.

man, the badlands jack has sky rocketed up in price. i paid $199 for it 3 years ago, now it's listed at $379! the pro eagle 3 ton is $299 at the moment. ive had no complaints at with the badlands jack, but if i were purchasing today, i'd 100% get the pro eagle instead.

Keep in mind the extension doesn’t come with the pro eagle or the beefier wheels (again though he said it was for the garage) adding in the extension adds 70 bucks but better warranty than the badlands and still comes out 10 bucks cheaper…though might be extra for shipping haven’t looked into that at all.

I have a HF Badland 3T “LONGREACH”. My old Jack could not get the wheels off the floor using the jack point. And, I read “somewhere” that the badlands jacks are manufactured on the same factory line used by Snap…

The Harbor Freight floor jack that is said to be made in the same factory as the Snap-on is the Daytona 3-ton Low-Profile Superduty.

I have the Pro Eagle Kratos. Really good jack, but not the most maneuverable thing on shop floors. I bought it for use with my 2021 Ram Power Wagon and it lifted that heavy-ass truck with relative ease. It lifts my Bronco like it isn't even there.

I ended up going with the 1.5t Badlands after seeing how big they are. The 3t is massive and won't fit in my storage cabinet. I figured since I'm just lifting one wheel at a time and placing on jack stands while changing the brakes on that specific wheel, 1.5t was plenty capable of handling the job. Things look like little remote controlled toys with their wheels! The lift height difference is maybe ½ inch. For mine, on OBX rims, 65 series profile tires and no lift, I don't think it'll matter.

For me………. I’ve had many 3 ton jacks from everywhere and I recently went to a 4 ton jack and I am much much much more happier.
