I am looking at the JB4. Would this or any tuners void warranties?

JB4 does not void warranty. Just unplug it. Since it does not actually flash the computer it is not detectable.

The Magnuson-Moss Act is what protects consumers from voided warranties. It was passed in the 70's and basically says its illegal to void a warranty unless proven that the aftermarket upgrade is the direct cause of the failure.

In and exhaust do not void any warranties. Hold off for a bit on programming performance upgrades. Depending on the issue that caused the failure... meaning if your upgrade is what failed or caused the failure then yes, FOrd will not warranty the repair. I'm thinking / hoping this summer proper upgrades will start to show up. There's still a lot of testing going on.

Those are usually a waste of money if you're looking for performance. I'm holding out for the Ford tune that's supposed to be out Q2 2022, which would be in the next month or so if Ford actually hits a target.

Intakes help with throttle response and change the exhaust note but they aren't a game changer as far as performance. They are just one of the many things that can be done. I just look at it like Legos. Every upgrade will help the performance of what you already have.

What about the air intake

No, I threw one on my JKU, before I did I called my dealer and asked that same question. Mechanic said "it will only void your power train if the CAI can be tracked to the issue" considering I've never heard of a CAI causing anything to damage a vehicle that bad, you're good

I wouldn't void your warranty until you're out of it.

With technology these days there's a strong chance tuning is stored in the computers logs that mtc could find if you are claiming damage.

I've been running a tune on my gen 1 raptor since I bought it new. while it was still under warranty I used to just put the factory tune back in, it only takes a few min, no one was ever the wiser. I plan on doing the same thing whenever they get around to building my bronco. The most noticable change for snappyness was the pedal commander, it plugs into the harness by the gas pedal and made a huge difference eliminating lag.
